What a superb project. I am attempting to order one of everything at the moment. Will those little beehive Kilns are ovens ever be available?

LAF is my favourite site for inspiration and ideas, and this thread is up there with the best. The figures you have on there are beautifully painted as well.
I wish someone did a Trojan range for 15mm of this quality. Appreciate Wargods is a fantasy setup, but the lack of evidence means that a degree of conjecture is necessary even for supposedly historical ranges.
I had an investment in my 15mm collection which meant that by the time really nice 25/28 models made their appearance in the 90s I'd already got in too deep to make the transition - besides which the smaller 15mm footprint does mean that it has its benefits when it comes to putting a layout together. I'm sure there are some clever folk out there that could scan these buildings in and create versions in other scales as well, so for the sake of those who would like these in other scales, and potential sales income, that might be worth exploring.

Despite the fact that I should really not be spending time on my biblical setup at the moment, this is tempting me to do just that, which says much for just how inspirational this thread is.

Suspect that buildings of this type reflect the architecture of wealthier clients and more prosperous times, with substantial timbers and dressed stonework. Others may have made do with mud brick and plaster, possibly decorated in a way that made them look to be higher quality than they were. If you are looking for further variety, that might be worth exploring.

Intrigued by those vertical 'steps' in the walling, though. Wonder what practical purpose they served, if any. It's not like they reflected a vertical joint, in the way that long sections of brickwork walls are constructed to enable the wall to handle a degree of movement, because from the photos it seems that the step is cut into individual blocks of stone.

I received my order from ModelEarth today. Two sphinxes, the Lion Gate, and both sets of stelae. Everything looks superb, even better in real life. Wonderful stuff. I hope you add the little bee hive ovens or kilns to the available range.

I finally made the time to paint the first batch of Trojan Houses - I was only able to get enough castings to make 3 pieces, but it is a start.

I based the colors on the images in the Osprey book, it says they were stone and mud-brick, then likely coated with lime or plaster for durability.  So, I gave them a very light look to the upper structure.  The end result looked a little primitive though, and I see Trojans a quite civilized -- so I added some greek meander designs and patterns in blue to the upper sections of each lower story.  The blue ties in nicely with the colors we used on our WarGods Trojans.

I then mounted them on MDF bases, and covered the edges with flock to blend the transition from scenic item to the ground.  I added a bunch of little details to make them look 'lived-in', mostly my Crocodile Games' Icons & Artifacts -- the "Market Items Sprue" which comes with a wine jug, small bag, and basket of fruit.

And the 'Pile of Bags" piece, that has 3 larger bags grouped together.

There are also a couple large pithoi seen as well - these were provided by the excellent "Forge of Ice" company, and were perfect for my Trojan project.  (Thanks Alex!!!)

It is fun to tell little stories with scenery, so here's one.  After a long day of honest work, a couple of Trojans were up on the roof, peacefully enjoying the evening breeze and a jug of wine.  Then the alarm was raised, 'Acheans have landed!  Gather you spears and shields!'   The men ran to defend the walls, leaving the wine and blanket on the roof, one cup spilled in their haste.

The cups were just bits of plastic tubing cut to size, and the blanket was a small piece of bed-linen that was coated in white glue, applied, and then painted once it had dried fully.

Hope you guys like these.  We're about to release the Trojan warband at Crocodile Games, so I'll be taking some more photos soon with the completed walls and buildings, I'll share them here as well if there is interest.
