Exclusive Lead Adventure Forum Miniature.
« on: March 16, 2018, 08:12:47 AM »
Hi Everyone.
When the Prof passed LAF to me, one of my first thoughts was to do a special miniature.

I work with Mark Copplestone, one of this forums favourite designers, so I spoke to him about it and he was keen to do it. We thought something with a Pulp theme would suit LAF, and so we are proud to present the International Adventurer!

He'll be available to buy next Monday (19th March 2018).

Next Monday morning, we'll do a prize draw and randomly choose 10 LAF members and they'll get a free model of the International Adventurer. We'll PM you asking for your postal address. After the draw, the figure will be available to buy as normal through the secret page.

Cheers
Nick Eyre

PS It is of course 28mm, and made of metal.

Kev Dallimore is painting him up now, so we'll have a painted picture to show you soon.

Not only is this a great idea, but that's a brilliant version - really appropriate!
Many thanks for arranging this Nick.

Wargmes Foundry have a version of that character in their League of Exceptional Gentlemen set (DA012). The pose is slightly different, but it's otherwise very similar, presumably due to it being by the same sculptor.

I may be getting shockingly old, forgetful and generally useless at understanding, but I don't understand... Can I ask for some clarification?

How are the 10 members being chosen? Is it just 10 random members from the list, or are there any selection criteria? Is the draw an 'opt in' thing? If so, how do we opt in?

If it's random, I can foresee a situation where 10 people are chosen but because they don't come to the forums any more (or have, you know, died in the last 10 years) the figures are unclaimed.

Then again, is there a time-limit on claiming them? If not redeemed in 48 hours (or whatever) does the mini go back into the pot?

Any elucidation on these burning questions will be most appreciated (or alternatively, someone kindly pointing me to where it's all explained would also be lovely)!

(Though at 2 quid if I don't win one I'm going to buy it anyway, obviously!)

I'm choosing 10 winners randomly from the member list. Mods and Admins are not included.

They'll be PM'd straight away asking for a postal address. I'll also ask them to post on this thread if they want to.

What if they don't reply? First I'll email them. As long as the email is active, the prize figure will remain theirs to claim whenever they want. I think it'll be unfair to put it 'back in the mix'. The exception is if they reply to say they don't want the figure. I understand if you play 10mm Ancients, a 28mm Pulp figure is not top of your wish list. In which case I will do a new draw.

Cheers
Nick
