Title: 54mm Boer War armoured train project
Post by: black hat miniatures on August 16, 2017, 01:08:04 PM
I am currently building a prototype for a 1/32nd scale Boer War Armoured train model for my Imperial Miniatures Toy Soldier range.

It is a mix of laser cut ply and 3d printed parts.  Eventually some pieces will be cast in metal...

This is the status so far:

The loco is nearly done - need to sort out a few bits and pieces...

The armored carriage needs some work, rivets adding, etc... and the wheels need a redesign to allow for axles.

That one looks good to me, very clean work! Is it a Thomas the tank engine underneath?
The track looks like 32mm gauge which would be 0 scale (1/45-1/48). 1/32 should be 45mm gauge in 1 scale though. What is it actually?

No all parts for the running gear are 3d printed ABS plastic.

Track is G scale - 45mm between rails.

Interesting. Is it a one-of or a master for production?

Master for production - still some tings to sort and then I'll make a number of bits in metal.
