Title: My approach to GoT Armies
Post by: ioan catalin on September 29, 2017, 11:00:46 AM
so this is my try on GoT armies.

I made a mix between TV series, books and available figures (most figures are Fireforge Games, Frostgrave, Perry and a lot of green stuff)

First I´ve started with some Stark men at arms and archers - and of course Jon himself - the standard bearer still needs the wolf on his standard (this will follow)

then some wildlings and night watch - including lord comander Mormont

I´m not very satisfied how the painting turn out - but however (I love more to convert figures than to paint them ;-)

Next will be - more Starks, The Mountain and the Mountain´s men, Tully men at arms and some night watch mounted scouts

cheers

You're of to a great start! I like the helmet uniformity with the Stark guards, and btw also a great job on those shields!

thx LordOdo

for the shields I took hoplite ones and made me a kind of stamp to stamp the wolf´s head from green stuff on the shields ;-)

but it doesn`t turn out very accurate - but I liked it altought

Cracking start to your project - any reason why some are on round bases and some on square?

not really - I just based the frostgrave barbarians on the bases they had in their box - as I bought them
and the fireforge were already based on square ones - so I didn´t really thought about that - but you´re right, I should make the next only on square ;-)

They look good! I like the first picture especially, it really evokes the atmosphere of Game of Thrones I think.

Nice start to the project! Those Stark shields look cool what a good idea I may have to try something like that one day, would be good for some Stark guard shields. Keep up the good work! :)
