Hi Folks
Just kicked off my new project (now that the Napoleonics is complete) - this time we are back to the Colonial wars for a spot of action in the Sudan.
240 Dervishes assembled and waiting for the paintbrush.

Giles,
You are a machine. :D :D
That is a mighty fine dervish horde.
-
Very interesting project!
Carry on!
-
That's another impressive project! About storage, how do you ensure that the group bases, hence the figures, don't get jostled in the A4 boxes?

They only get moved from shelf to table - they very rarely travel so jostling not an issue
-
Delighted to report that I have finally finished painting up all my Dervishes (infantry) - a grand total of 368 figures.
Now have to start on the horse and camels

Blackening the edges of those things would get you a long way I think.
The white sticks out and is detrimental to the overall look in my opinion.
-
Not so bad, I think
-
I'll have to get myself one or two of those. Something to counter my gunboat.
-
Very realistic pics! :-* :-* :-*
This dhow is a gem!
-
Wonderful looking project.
-
Most impressive indeed. That dhow kit makes for a lovely river-going felucca (I believe that's what they call those boats on the Nile).

Alright, Eric, time to come clean. Is it child labor you are using (enslaved products of your own loins?) or have you some poor local lads chained up in a secret compartment of the shed cranking out your figures while you sleep? :o :D ;) lol
You're production is astonishing.
Well, maybe you are just retired and have nothing better to do than indulge your 'slight' passion.
-
no child labour....they are far more interested in social media
currently between jobs but all my spare time is doing what SWMBO wants and cracking on with the shed reconstruction.
-
Love all the new troops.
You are a painting machine. :)
I tip my hat to you.
-
Nicely done all round! :-*

That's good I never thought of using the seated camels in that way.
-
The Camel Corps is awesome! Great job you did there! Especially the last picture is very atmospheric
-
Those are very good Giles. I like how you have managed to convey the square as well as the firing line. The mounted column is grand as well.
-
Very nice.
They have the spirit of the Sudan about them!
-
I think the whole using the camels as cover business is a seriously dodgy concept, but it's a nice homage to the movie. :)
-
