Painted half a dozen of these to have a go at the camouflage smocks, I like the figures and I hope I did them justice.
-
The squad on the battlefield
-
Painting is great. Not too sure about the figures. Well, the officer anyway. Your painting though, excellent.
-
Very nice painting! Especially the Splinter looks rather convincing.
If I‘d be picky I‘d point out these are no Artizan but rather 5x Warlord Games and one other manufacturer I‘m not so sure about. Maybe Victory Force.
-
Great paintjob, Jeff. And as german I love the clean view of the Germans, but the could be a little bit dirty. Happened on some days in the war ;)
-
Lovely work Jeff.

Thanks for pointing that out, I've changed the thread title :)
Glad you like the splinter, you should do I copied it from your wonderful blog

Thanks Dirk, my clean painting style is probably more suited to the 19th rather than 20th century but when looking at the wargames table it does make the figures "pop"
Which sort of goes against the idea of camouflage lol
Lovely work Jeff.
Thank you Helen
-
Great work. Love the style of your painting. Clean and bright to the eye.
-
Good job on the camo Jeff.
One or two of the figures I’m not sure about. The helmets don’t all look quite right. Great camo smocks though :o
-
Nice crisp paintjobs Jeff. I haven't dared touch my Fallschirmjager yet purely because of the camo scheme. I envy your ability to produce such lovely paintwork. I'm sure you'd love to work on a few (a platoon or so!) of my Artizan Fallschirmjager? :D
-
Very nice painting here ! :-*
You've done great justice to the fallschirmjägers somcks, adn I hope to see more of them soon.
-
Nice work on those minis Jeff, camo looks great :-*
-
By the style of the helmet, id say that the interloper is from Blacktree Designs.
Very nice looking Fjs :)
-
Thank you all for taking the time to comment, it's much appreciated.

I've packed the painting for others in now Steve I'm afraid, wasn't getting anything done for myself :)

Spot on Westwaller 👍

I thought you'd said that mate, but you've got to try your luck lol
-
Gorgeous figures, especially the camouflage.
-
Lovely work indeed! The splinter camo looks spot on and very nicely done sir! The figures in the photos work well together ...and I actully quite like the officer?

Then that is all that matters at the end of the day ...are you happy with them.
Nice project you have going there ....can't wait to see how it develops.
p.s. thanks for sharing the pics by the way!
-
Well another handful done, I've messed up the raindrops on the smocks and will have to revisit them but I need them for this weekend so on to the table they go lol.
-
They look good to me Jeff :)
-
Fantastic stuff :o 8) 8)
-
A definite thumbs up from me!
-
Smashing job on those.
-
Once again, wonderful painting, sir ! :-*
-
Thank you all for taking the time to reply it's much appreciated :)

Lovely painting :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
I don't like the way you keep painting the same figures as me and keep showing me up
I am cheating this time by doing early war, no camouflage smocks :D
One question why desert colours on some of them?
-
Cheers Colin, early war is definitley the way to go coz camouflage is a pain lol. My thinking behind having a mixture of equipment was that some of the troops might be veterans from the Italian campaign holding on to bits of older equipment to show off their veteran status. I figured it happens in today's modern army so why not back then :)
-
Wow, excellent work Jeff truly inspirational stuff. You’re going to have to start doing some photography set ups or in game shots.

Cheers Stuart, I'll give the in game shots a decent go in the next game
-
Loving your work ............yet again! More character added to already characterful figures! Can't wait to see them in some 'in-game' shots!
-
Wow Jeff, your camo is outstanding. Never saw it better before. This is a milestone for me. Looking forward to see an other camo from your hand.

Well regarding 'in game' shots my Americans against Romarks Germans are likely to be on the cards soon :)

Thanks Dirk, I get a lot of inspiration from moiterei_1984 to be fair, he really is the camouflage master :)
-
Awesome ...can't wait to see these guys in action!

Do not make yourself smaller than you are. These Camo is really hot, never saw it better. Maybe next Blam we can make a small WW2-skirmish and I can see these beautys in action. Will bring some Americans or Britsh troops.
-
Lovely PJs. Camo is a stalling point for me, which serves to further increase my admiration for a job so well done. 8) :-*
Looking forward to seeing them in action.
-
Cheers both, hmmm a WW2 game for BLAM. There's a thought :)
-
Very nice painting.
The figures are inferior to your painting .
They are ok but somewhat clunky.

Thanks Lysandros, I suppose the figures wouldn't appeal to everyone however beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that lol.
I've been looking at the Artizan miniatures German Paras and I'm thinking of getting some of them, just to mix it up a bit :)

I'd say,go for it,but paint them up for winter warfare, it'll save me some work as they could appear on my side of the table ;) :)
-
Personally can't fault the Artizan figures (the ranges could be added to with a little more regularity but that's that), my Panzergrenadier Platoon has a good many in it already! They mix well with the Warlord Games plastic and Blacktree miniatures......though less well with the thinner/shorter Westwind?

Well I was going to suggest you get some Brits to go up against them lol

I love the Artizans, but he is always using the same poses and faces. Sometimes it looks like and android WW2-Army is attacking another android-Army. His faces are the nicolas-cage-version in miniature ;)
But the figures are great to paint and looks good from a distance on a table.

Well Dirk on your recommendation I got this four figure assault team painted up. I enjoyed painting them, there's something about Artizan that I enjoy painting them in the same way I enjoy painting Front Rank or Galloping Major figures.
-
Bangtidy Jeff. Very sharp paintwork 8)
-
Nice work on those minis Jeff :)
-
Nice.
-
Thanks for commenting guys 👍
-
Biased as I am (Artizan fanboy here....first grade!) those figures are awesome and that is a superb paint job!
We'll keep commenting if you keep putting up such top quality work!

Cracking looking FJ's Jeff! :-*

Lovely brushwork Jeff. I like your painting style of splinter camo on the FJs.
-
Thanks ladies and gents, the positive comments are very welcome and help to keep me focused :)
-
You are right, Jeff. It is always a pleasure to paint Artizan, I did some FFL last month. And your work looks excellent. You really love these figures, I think.
-
Lovely colouring in on the FJ 8) :-*

Superb painting camo!

Great stuff.

Yeah. Looking great!

Nicely done indeed! These chaps definitely do look the part.

Two more done and I've eventually settled on a recipe for the camouflaged smocks

Nice.

More excellent work!

Thank you both 👍

Hmmm my mistake perhaps they haven't been sorted yet then.
I'd play!
We'll have to wait for Nick to get the ball rolling on organising the games.

The smocks look absolutely superb!! Nice work on these two gents!
