Title: Zippy's Miniatures
Post by: Lord Zippy on November 28, 2017, 11:32:37 PM
Hello and I bid you all a good day!

I never have signed into a forum before and have been highly recommended to start here, which I have. So hello again!

I have been around the gaming/painting scene locally for the last 20 years and kept myself to myself.
I recently came to the conclusion I would like to start my own figures.

When I was a lad, my grandparents who were very much into Robert Burns, whom most of you will know from his famous poems and one for all new year Auld Lang Syne. Anyway in 1790, he created a very long poem, called Tam O'Shanter which is about a drunk fella who ends up getting chased by Warlocks and Witches. Look the poem up it's fantastic!

Anyway, with all the little skirmish games out, In her majesties name and such likes I thought maybe I could get figures sculpted for gothic horror, a team of villains and heroes, so to speak.

Anyway I have sent for a sculptor, Deeper Reach Miniatures whom are very good! This is just the start.

I will add more pictures once I receive more.

I have at the moment;

Robert Burns (Bard)
Tam O'Shanter (Leader) He'll be on foot and horseback.
Nanny the Witch (Leader)
Auld Nick [Devil] (Musician).

The sculptor has got more witches and warlocks as well as, Robert Burns Dumfries volunteers which will give enough for two sides for any ruleset.
Once I have a bulk of the figures created, I will be putting up a kick-starter for anyone who is interested.

Thank you for reading and hope this old timer will fit in well within the forums!

I wasn't sure about the first green but the other models have a lot of character and are well sculpted.  They look like they would be a lot of fun to paint.  Looking forward to checking them out when you have them done up.
