Title: The living roots of IHMN
Post by: Craig on December 07, 2017, 07:51:31 AM
As some of you fine people may know IHMN grew out of an earlier set of rules. In the Emperor's Name was (and is) a set of skirmish rules set in the grim darkness of the far future, where there is only war.

Although I wrote the first edition of ItEN, the second and third were the product of a brilliant cooperation between the folks at The Forge of War Development Group.

This cooperative forum worked on and greatly improved several of my original free rule sets including FUBAR and The Forge of War. Taking them to height of perfection I had only dreamed of.

Sadly that forum is no more, but I recently created a Facebook page for those who wished to continue this journey. Quite a few of the old stalwarts are already on there and carrying on the riotous creative assembly as if nothing had happened.

If you would like to be involved you can find it here:

Many of the original product of their works are still preserved on the blog Gawd 'elp us Games, which is here:

The latest drafts of FUBAR 5th edition and a squad-level variant I'm working on are also uploaded to that group.

I am afraid that you have to apply to join the FB group because of the number of scammers and spammers we have had to repel in the past. The same goes for the Blood Eagle, Daisho and ItEN FB pages as well.

Craig, I don't think you understood my comment - and I am a member of all the groups.

A public Facebook is open to anyone on FB to see and posts there may be reflected on personal walls and friends feeds. So it's public and visible to all and anyone can join without policing. So actually is open the to abuse you mentioned you are trying to avoid. They are actually often used by spammers when they get popular to hit lots of members feeds. They generally are things to be avoided unless well very well actively moderated IMO. ;)

Closed groups will have post which only are seen by the members and won't show up on feeds. membership has to be approved to join etc. Both the Diasho and Bloodeagle Facebook groups are closed but the Forged of war one is public.

You'll get less abuse and likely more interaction in a closed group vs. an public one. Hope this helps. :)
