Title: Cheetor's Ratskins / Skinwalkers (Dracula's America crossover)
Post by: cheetor on January 14, 2018, 01:41:38 PM
After twenty years in a box, I painted my Ratskins over the last couple of months.

I had specific ideas of how I wanted them to look, the various themes and tropes that I wanted them to touch on.  By and large I hit them.
Rather than rewrite that stuff here I will direct you to the blog post (https://sho3box.com/2018/01/11/ratskins-skinwalker-tribe-of-the-boss-drum/) instead.

I also used the opportunity to add a couple of old Confrontation (the Necromunda precursor) models to the project.

Adding the Confrontation figures also gave me two distinct figures to use as "Skinwalkers" in games of Dracula's America (in Spaaace).  Skinwalkers need alternate beast forms and when I saw that Reaper made such fun Weird West figures I added these two goofballs.

Lastly, as I was painting some furry models, I added a few more to simply get them done.  Some of you might recognise the old Citadel Night Horror Werewolf that got bumped up the queue so that I could post it at Halloween.

And that's it for now.  I have a few more models to add to the group, but they are garnish rather than requirements really.

As I mentioned above, there is more detail about the palette and the other decisions made to get the project finished in the blog post (https://sho3box.com/2018/01/11/ratskins-skinwalker-tribe-of-the-boss-drum/), if you have any queries.

Thanks for looking!

Great brushwork! I particularly liked very much the"radioactive green" warpaint!  :-*

BTW: Dracula's America IN SPACE is an AWESOME idea!  ;)

:-* :-* Love these, your regular colours of green and purple work so well, with the otherwise natural pallet, combined with the white rat pelts gives them a totally unique look

Thanks for the encouragement everyone :)

The rules were used as written 3 fingers.  Somebody firing a weapon in more or less any action tv show or movie (say Bonanza, Underworld, or Firefly for example) tends to generate more or less identical effects on the plot and characters regardless of era/genre.  As much as shooting a werewolf with silver tipped, UV active ammunition can ever be gauged, is that an accurate representation of what is happening?

The truth is that in this pulpy context, I don't care much.

We used a pretty basic convention of autoguns = repeaters and other sorts of things.  We didn't get hung up on it.  The rules as written give us what we want.
