Is anyone else having problems with orders from Brother Vinni?
I ordered a shed load of stuff in mid-Jan and it hasn’t arrived; my many emails are being ignored and I’ve had to start a PayPal dispute!
I’ve never had issues in the past and I’m a little concerned I’ve been shafted! Very disappointed!
-
I saw him at the Tactica, so he still exist. Maybe he did not check his mails.
-
I have the same problem. My order has not arrived yet. But i am still convinced it will arrive soon. I guess he needed stock for Tactica and so the poor online shoppers have to wait until he recast the stuff :'( :'(. :'(
-
Ah this makes sense. I don’t mind the delay (I do a bit) it’s just the lack of communications that’s annoying
-
I ordered from his Black Friday sale back in late November last year and my package just arrived this week. I had no response to emails directly to BV either and had to file a paypal dispute about a month ago. He did respond to the dispute in two days and shipped out the package 10 days after that. I got a shipping number and tracking.
-
In my experience packages from BVM are rather slow. I placed an order just before he culled his Nuclear Sandlot range and it is yet to arrive. I am not woried about it as yet.
-
I've always gotten my stuff. I'm never in any kind of a hurry though so I don't pay attention to how long it takes. :)

Judging by the dates of the last replies on the forum, he is alive, healthy and discussing his new miniature for the SAGA.

And this is just the kind of thing to pee me right off...I too am one of the people who placed orders in January for his not-Fallout stuff, had sent him an email after a month and not received a reply. My order confirmation said shipment in 10 days - if he isn't able to deliver on that promise why bother including it? And posting on fora about your new range when you can't be bothered to deliver the old one or respond to emails is just poor form.
-
He should respond to emails but if there is nothing new to report? Resin manufacturing is a time comsuming process. How many can he cast as the same time? How long is his queue? You can only cast in the workshop. These days you can post on the bus, or train or while riding in a car. You can post from bed before you get up or just before you turn in for the night. Just saying.
-
You can also email from all these places just as quickly. It’s couretesy to respond to paying customers queries ASAP! Especially repeat customers like myself
-
Yes, but what does one say in such an email? "Sorry but you are in the queue and will be done as soon as everything else in the queue is molded, packed and mailed." Isn't that assumed?
I think that this illustrates the issues faced by small businesses. He has been to two shows (according to Facebook). So while he was travelling to and from Slovakia no work is being done on orders. He needs to go to shows to promote his brand but can't go because of orders. He needs to sculpt to make money but also needs to make molds, pour molds, pull molds, package miniatures, etc etc.
That is to say: the work of more than one person but unable to afford more than one person.
It's the same for all small businesses. And this isn't even accounting for problems - ie. supplies not delivered, or the wrong supplies delivered or short-shipped, or illness, or whatever.
Not saying he shouldn't have emailed you. Just saying that there are things small businesses have to worry about that push things out of one's mind.

And I think we are saying we understand the pressures that a one man band is under (I referenced that in my email to him) but that he could have a standard form email for such enquiries, drop the 10 days shipping reference from his order acknowledgement (that apparently may be an ideal seldom achieved judging from other posts in this thread), or put a notice on his website saying he has issues and delivery will be slow. Failing to respond at all isn't only bad manners it's poor business too - 80% of unhappy customers don't whinge, they just don't come back. And they are more likely to tell their friends of their poor experience.

He does not sell himself, his wife does it.

Ah. If she's handling the orders (and so can read the orders entries), but doesn't speak English, or speak it very well, perhaps she avoids replying to inquiry emails.
-
To be honest I couldn’t care less if the email contained a generic message and a gif of a cat playing with wool... as long as there was some contact and I wasn’t completely mugged off.
On the bright side I have just had an email from Brother-Vinni apologising for the delay and saying my models are on the way.
-
It's a very small company. With those especially (but also in general I'm not too fussed with delivery times when ordering from minis manufacturers) I'm very lenient on when I get the stuff. It will arrive eventually, and it's not like most of us have more than enough toys lying around to play with in the mean time. :)
-
I've been waiting since November and they don't answer emails, I wasn't a huge order less than two dozen figures but I was going to do a bulk order on another of their ranges which I've shelved until this order arrives
-
Beside the "moral" or ethics on doing business, he doesn't speak english that well, so when you communicate with him, keep your sentences / mails simple.
And to be honest, I can't stand that "we're just a small business" excuse. When you're doing business and take money for a service or product, deliver it - otherwise state clearly about the stock you have. Same with some other companies, that leave their paid pre-orders hanging dry, to sell at shows
-
They should shut up shop and never take another order until they have sorted out their issues.
I thought that was the bottom line here for companies not catching up on orders or have I missed something?
-
I have been waiting for a order since january, i have emailed him about three times.
I understand he is a one operation, but non communication is not good. Other firms i have orders with have communicated when there have been issued.
Put a paypal dispute in over m order. That went my way, as he never relied to them.

I ordered about ten items from BV in September last year and it shipped 6 days later. I ordered two things in December and it shipped about a month later. I placed a good-sized order (fifteen items, some of them sets) on Apr28, got the "processing" email on May 3, and that was the last I've heard (so still within the approximate window of my last, much smaller order). It does seem like timeframes are stretching out, but my last couple of orders arrived without incident.
-
I got the shipping email from Brother Vinni today!
-
I was just looking at Vinni's kickstarter thingy and apparently it's abandonedware, a lot of unhappy backers who got nothing at all.
So yeah, I think it might be risky placing an order. Shame, there's some nice miniatures there.
-
Yeah, I finally looked at his S&M Indiegogo thing; not sure why that's languished for 4 years while he's steadily released other stuff. Perhaps he thinks it won't sell at retail and therefore hasn't taken it to casting but still... those poor, pissed off backers.
-
Doubt if I can do a Pay Pal dispute my order was the Xmas special last year and I've sent loads of emails some I've translated into Russian.
I would warn anyone from placing orders with Brother Vinni , nice figures online but that's all I ever got to see.
No customer service at all, I've posted on his face book page. Put my order details on the page, no replies
Sadly I won't risk another order, and there would have been plenty more
-
I did receive my big order referenced above; almost everything was good but one of the items was incorrect and my emails about that were ignored.
-
Sorry, for those waiting more than a month or two with no delivered orders, let alone responses you all are way more patient than i ever could.
There is no reason to be waiting for 6 months, or 9 for an order to come from anywhere on the globe.
PayPal gives you 180 days to file.
If for those under the 180 days you need to protect yourself and make the claim.
Just my $.02
Take it as you will.

I found a way to contact him directly, I sent him a print out of my order , he apologized and three weeks later the order arrived woohoo ( 10 months late )

On the right hand side column there is a "message seller button" sends him a message which he replied to within a couple of days
Figures were awesome as usual, saying that the whole process of contacting him through his wife / partner was a waste of time
Good luck I hope you get your belated figures

Send him a PM on here with the info. It works.
