Title: African tribal leader - recommendations?

I’m looking for a tribal leader or two and would appreciate recommendations (28mm).

Do you have any particular look or style in mind?



This pack from Copplestone's Ngoni range has three quite nice candidates:

(They come with a couple of Zulu-type shields)





Also North Star Africa has some options in their Congo range:

They also do some leader types in their Matabele range, including a fellow on a horse.





And Foundry do a pack of leaders in the original Darkest Africa range:

(Probably some options on their Casting Room Miniatures offshoot's website, I think they still sell that Zulu War range from a few years ago.)

Thanks for that info - plenty to go on there. As regards look or style, well I’m not clued-up on the regional and tribal differences so will unintentionally make some improbable combinations. I’m starting with some African tribal riflemen which I bought secondhand - I reckon they are Foundry. I don’t know if they’re generic African or something more specific.

Actually, I want these for Pulp Alley or Congo so I guess in either case historical accuracy is not paramount so I’ll follow up some of your suggestions and pick what I like the look of.
