Title: Army Painters 2018 (AP 2018) - Compiled List of Projects
Post by: Hammers on March 06, 2018, 02:25:59 PM
For a little background, here's the original thread which once was started by HerbyF proposing the idea:
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=55393.0

'Army Painters' is an 'easy does it' kind of challenge. The challenge is to meet some level of painting ambition you set up for yourself each month, like 5-20 miniatures, with the ambition to muster a full army by January 1, 2019. Each person maintains their own thread and labels it starting with '(AP 2018)' so that we can find each other's project. I will update this thread with participants and a link to their specific thread as they filter in.

Thanks.  Mine won't be posted until after the first few weeks of any LPL as I intend to use that to kick start the project.

This sounds like something I might be able to achieve - I've never been very fast but, hey, if I can't reach a milestone that I set for myself over a 10 month period, I'd only have myself to blame. I'm not sure it will count as an "Army", though. My aim is to finish as many as possible of the Carnevale miniatures that I own (somewhere in the region of 50, plus a few more to come when the latest Kickstarter delivers). Would that fit into the theme?

That's fine. Army is a very flexible concept in the wargaming world.

Last time round I painted 1 model which I never took photos of! This is one LAF event I never managed to start working seriously on, let alone complete.  :(

Will try once again, with two armies not one (but they'll be small forces rather than armies).
Unusually for me, I'll be painting (i) historicals and (ii) 15mm models - Greeks vs Persians.
And my deadline is actually 1st October 2018 - for reasons which will be revealed.

And - er - as that's a rather busy sort of project, I added a fun one, Kharadon Overlords - you know, steampunk flying dwarfs (dwarves?) from GW.

In on this. 2018 will be the year for my 15mm Peninsular War - British, Portuguese and Spanish. 2019 for the French and their allies.

A belated addition to AP2018 is my BoB Chinese Warlord Army.

Previously AP2016, hopefully I will make a bit more progress this time around...  ::)

So, is it time to start a 2019 AP thread?

If there's an interest. Can we have an acclamation in this thread, please? All in favor, shout "aye!".

I have personally failed miserably with the AP 2018 as my hobby time has shrunk and my interest has been with other things than pathans.

I’m in. I need to get these guys done for Bayou Wars.

I would be happy to start up and maintain the 2019 list if you like.
