Some time after finishing my egypt style buildings for Wargods of Aegyptus I considered to use the moulds for another bigger building. Around that time the first Wargods of Olympus minis arrived and so the idea for this Trojan Temple was born.
As I wanted to use the existing moulds without the temple looking too egyptic I decided to use only the more universal looking parts. Goal was to have it look neither too greek nor too egyptic, but look for yourself:

Wow!! :-* :-*
Looking very good Thomas.

Lovely stuff, wouldn't mind seeing more off your stuff.

Looks impressive so far :)

That's very nice, you've positively hit the nail on the head there.
-
I like it. I would like to do something similar myself.
-
Wow - absolutely stunning work Tom :-*
-
Fantastic temple. :-* :-*
-
Thanks for your nice comments :) and yes there are more pics to come ;)
-
A great job you did there! Please, keep posting!
-
That’s a stunning piece! :-* I can’t wait to see it painted!
-
Impressive, both in design and execution.
-
Wow! Please post more! I have those same molds and I love seeing great ideas and execution like this.
-
Wow, that is looking fantastic.
The style looks really good - nice job keeping the getting the correct angle of the walls. Keep it up, I can't wait to see what you add next!
-
As the project went on different paint schemes were tried. The hardest nut to crack however was to achieve an accurate alignment of the columns as I think everybody seeing the model in real will try to look along the row of columns! After discarding various ideas, the specially made positioning devices did the job.

Amazing!
-
Dito!! :-* :-* :-*
-
Just wow!

Beautiful work.

Fantastic project, can't wait to see it finished.

cheers Thomas

Yip! Brilliant! :-*
-
Cool 8)
-
It is coming out great! Eager to see it finished!
-
Superb benchmark stuff. Already a thing of beauty. Enjoying this very much - thanks for the story.
-
stunning
-
Coming really cool - absolutely stunning! :-*
-
Thanks very much, I hope you enjoy the pics of the next steps as well.
The roof cover is made from sand paper which is painted and drybrushed like the rest of the model.
The first ideas about the upper end of the wall looked a bit boring so I tried different kinds of crenellations and finally liked the stepped ones shown in the last picture best.
cheers Thomas
-
Wowsers, that's looking great!
-
That temple is looking magnificent. :-* :-*
-
Wow!! Most beautifull & impressive!!! :o
-
Wow!

Spectacular!

Dunno how I missed this until now.

I don't think I could do as good a job,
no matter how hard I Troy.
-
Splendid :)
-
Getting better and better. :-*
-
:-IIt's done :) the temple building is finished :) :)
I am pretty happy with the result! From the first ideas and concept scetches to the finished model it was a interesting and challenging task ;)
Thanks go to my tabletop mate Klaus-Peter for casting the about 1500 stones needed and to cast more whenever I had a new idea and changed the plan lol
Be assured the following pictures will not be the last in this thread, because I plan to take some „in action“ pics in the coming weeks. However some of the minis for these are still on the painting table ;)
Thanks for the nice comments,
cheers Thomas
-
The temple is magnificent, Thomas. :-* :-*
A great model.
-
:o That is truly magnificent.
-
Best......temple.....ever! 8) :-*
Are you planning to do more ground work or do you have a lot of scatter terrain to populate the base of this magnificent beastie?
-
Wow - what an amzing build. :o :o I am with Andym about ground work and scatter terrain on the base but even without some it is magnificent. Looking forward to seeing some in-action shots.
-
Thanks for the nice comments :)
On the long run I am thinking of a kind of temple city or sacred walled town.
For now I am working on minis and interior for the sanctuary.
Btw. I don't fully get the meaning of scatter terrain o_o
cheers Thomas
-
I was meaning the likes of sacks, crates, market stalls, water troughs and the like.
-
Ah, thanks ;)
-
Stunning job :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
But how much does that beast weight?
-
Fantastic end result :-*
-
Stunning job :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
But how much does that beast weight?
That!
-
Stunning job :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
But how much does that beast weight?
A whopping 14 kg without any minatures, so a solid gaming table is needed lol
It can be split in 3 parts: base, middle part and the small upper storey. For transport and storage the upper part fits easily into the base and so I'll build 2 boxes. This way handling should ok ;)
-
An incredible build
:)
-
That is a really good looking temple! :o :o :o
-
Majestic! Imposing! Eager to see more of it! Cheers!
-
Great work, the detailing on the columns really finishes off the piece.
-
Wow.
I wanted to post my Pantheon and then I saw your post. :o
I need more training! I am not worthy!
-
Wow truly epic
-
Thanks for all your feed back :)
A few weeks ago the last minis of the "Wargods of Olympus" Kickstarter did arrive at my doorstep. Having finished painting these I took a few test shots of the now populated temple. I have more minis and decoration to populate the building on my painting table, but usually during the warm summer days my painting pace slows down a bit ;D

Simply incridible!!! :-* :-* :-*
-
Spectacular! A close-up of Helen, please?
-
Absolutely fantastic! Awesome Job!
-
Excellent. The figures and the temple really compliment each other.
-
Incredible work, both the temple itself and the paint job on the Crocodile Games figures! I own the Trojan miniatures (not painted to nearly your level) but don't recognize the priest/wizard standing on the roof with the Tragic Hero, whose sculpt is that?
-
Most excellent! I love those epic pictures... :-*
-
Thanks for your motivating comments :)
@ Barry, the priest is Baudea's 28SAC "Hellenistic Sacrifice"
@ LeadAsBestos, close-up shot from Helen with her husband Paris:
-
Wow, that is spectacular! :-*
-
It is a masterpiece.
Really love it.
-
Wow. That's rather impressive!
-
I foolishly stayed away from that Kickstarter because I figured the miniatures would be on the website before long. I just went and checked and they have almost nothing.
-
The Amazon's have been up for a while and other forces are coming soon seemingly.
-
That's just breathtaking :-*
-
blimey.
stunning terrain, lovely figures, beautiful painting (and photography!)...
'180 ... !! '
-
Took a few more pics today, with lovely sunshine and 30°C lol
As I am a fan of all Greek mythology some months ago I painted a unit of Mierce Miniatures' Mesokolossus the "Burning Ones"
In the next months I think some Mythis Battles Pantheon minis will join the fray ;)
cheers Thomas

I think I'm dreaming :-* :-* :-*
Me too!
:-* :-*
Makes me want to get a few more Greeks done myself.
:)
-
Thanks a lot gentlemen, and yes more painted Greeks might be the answer ;)
As the temple interieur is waiting for paint I have started to work on some Mythic Battles Pantheon stuff :)
I plan to paint a lot of the big stuff and some of the smaller heroes and maybe even some troops.
As I was stunned when seeing the Atlas sculpt, so he was my first choice for painting.
Have a look yourself ;)
-
Most impressive!!! :o
Who makes these sculpts?
-
That’s an amazing sculpt......the paintings not bad either :-*.....I think he would look better minus his extra two arms though! :? Maybe just as a normal giant!
-
Brill 8)
-
Most impressive!!! :o
Who makes these sculpts?
The Atlas is made by Monolith Games and belongs to their Mythic Battles Pantheon Kickstarter.
The 2 Cyclopes are from Crocodile Games Wargods of Olympus range and available in their shop.
-
Thanks for your prompt reply! I follow your thread with great (and growing) interest!
-
You're welcome ;)
In case you have not seen them, in the last years I have startet a few other threads related to Wargods of Olympus and Aegyptus in this board. Some with temple buildings, most with minis only.
cheers Thomas
-
I confess I had not seen your previous works...
Started browsing through your gallery. Some outstanding paintjobs! :o You have an original palette and painting style! Many congrats!
-
After the holidays I am back painting and taking pictures ;)
This time I have finished a Wargods of Olympus Trojan chariot and put on "film" together with some new scenery.
