Title: Frontear is back!
Post by: Inkpaduta on March 16, 2018, 05:29:30 PM
Alternative armies is bringing back Frontear. The Wild West version of Flintloque.
I am very excited. I had some flood damage to my basement two years ago and lost
all of my figures for Frontear. AA wasn't selling them anymore. Now they are again.
Combined with miniaturemen's Orc and Dwarf cowboys this make for a fun game of
fantasy Wild West. The rules are great too.

What's the Frontear game like? How many figures does it need?

The rules are based off of the Flintloque rule set. They are not hard to learn.
As far as figures are concerned you can play with as many as you would like for
a skirmish game. 3-6 on a side would do just fine. You could play with more.

Figures are dwarf, elf, orc, troll and other such figures. Each has a certain number of
hits they can take before they are out of the game. You pick the type of weapon they will
use. The weapons vary by range, damage done and rate of fire. First you roll to see if you hit
and then, if you do, how much damage you may have done.

I have a couple of the originals, but not the rules set.

Maybe this is the impetus that was needed to see more player taking up this Wild Wild West game.

"The rules are based off of the Flintloque rule set."

1st, 2nd or 3rd edition?

That I can't say for sure.
The Flintloque rules that I have are likely 15 years old if that helps.
But, that doesn't mean that Frontear is based off of those.

I'll have to look into the figures I missed first time around. Maybe build the uniformed Texecas Volunteers into a proper sized squad.

Front...ear? Feels like a missed chance if they don't have any mutants with ears for noses
