Diving in to Napoleonics, but going to limit myself to the Peninsula.
Have avoided the period for forty years, because of the breadth and my tendency to go whole hog on any period I get involved with. I have several gaming friends who have been very influential in pulling me in ( in other words bugging the crap out of me...) so, yeah, hell has finally frozen over.
Haven't painted early 19C troops since I did ~500 Mexicans for my Alamo project back in '90-'91, so first troops will be test paints to get a feel for figures, details, etc. I've also been focused on 28mm stuff for the past six or seven years, so getting back to 15s will be an adjustment of sorts.
Models will be an assortment - AB, Xan, Khurasan, Warmodeling/Fantassin/Capitan, Battle Honors, and Blue Moon.
Standards will be mix of GMB and Ramos.
Plan on starting with Allies, since my friends have French already. Infantry, then cav, then arty and leaders.
Test sticks follow...

Following up now with some Brit and Portuguese line, now that I think I have a handle on the figures and paint techniques.
Prepped 12 battalions of infantry, in prep for a business trip I took in Feb. With evenings and weekends to paint in hotel, my intention was to get these guys done.

Basing test - fine ground ballast, followed with overlay of stucco finish.
Base layer of thinned paint, then lighter drybrushes. Still need to add somery grass/greenery.

Much more productive than drinking in the hotel bar and watching crap TV in your hotel room! Those redcoats and British cavalry are my favourites, but I am a bit biased, it's all good.

:-)
I listened to three audio books by Bernard Cornwell - two from Sharpe series and his Waterloo book.
Great motivation!

Here's some progress on the Brit standards. Flags by GMB - they are a tad large, so had to get creative in getting them to wrap properly around some of the poses.

Thanks! I've been enjoying this era so far, quite a change from my recent efforts. I'm having an issue with blue tones which is driving me crazy. I'm using the Foundry paints (have all the blue triads) and cant seem to get the right shade for the dark blue on the Portuguese. Triads don't really work for me at 15mm/18mm scale - not enough gh real estate.
Here's some fearless leaders...

I know what you are saying. I have the same problem with blues in 28mm. None of the Blues out there are dark enough for the deep shade. Except one. Humbrol acrylic 15. It is gloss, but if you are matt varnishing your figures that is not a problem.
