After a year of planning, I’m are happy to announce that we will be venturing into a part of the hobby with our own range of miniatures.
Being Scottish I have a keen interest in my Countries history and the conflicts it was involved in around the World. With this passion, I have decided to launch a Kickstarter for a new Range of 28mm miniatures for the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745.
The aim is to have a complete range of miniatures that will satisfy the gaming needs for The ’45. With the Kickstarter, we hope to fund the first phase of the range with charging Highlanders and Lowlanders, along with a number of stretch goals for Royal Ecossais and a number of characters from the Rebellion.
All going well the Kickstarter will launch in April and we hope you like what you see and support our new venture.

Arthur, they are by Nick Collier. I love painting his ECW figures that much i couldn't think of anyone else i wanted more for the job.

Nice! are they on the taller side (Renegade/Bicone) or the smaller side? (TAG). I only bought some miniatures from TAG a few years ago and remember them smaller then Renegade/Bicorne. Thought they where all sculpted by Nick Collier.
I like them a bit taller (my eyes are getting older and older......).

I've been waiting for ages for these, I saw a few photos months ago and had to keep the secret. I don't think anybody will be disappointed, they look fabulous. Iain said if the range takes off it will cover all the combatants and be a large range.
I for one will be backing it to the full.

especially as I already have a collection waiting for paint. Do Humbrol still do their Tartan paint selection box?

Kickstarter Update: Launching 16th April
Everything is pretty much in place for the launch. We are looking to launch the Campaign on 16th April. We are at Salute on the 14th, so this will allow us to do some promo work at the show and I felt it was the most appropriate date in April for a Jacobite range.
Here we have some concept art of the Free figure that everyone will receive as part of the Kickstarter. It depicts the Bonnie Prince on his horse looking over his Loyal Troops. The figure is being sculpted right now and we hope to have it completed before the launch.
More updates coming as we lead up to the launch :D

Kickstarter Preview: Happy Friday folks. Here is a preview of the Highlander Command Pack. The target will be to raise the funds for 8 packs, each with 4 unique minis. Here we have the Officer, Piper and Standard bearer from the Command pack. The Sergeant is currently being sculpted just now.

These look like nice sculpts, well-proportioned and with good poses. I'm personally not that interested in the Scots in kilts, but some of the command figures, lowlanders and the brits would be much more portable to all sorts of settings, including pirate games and an obscure project of mine of events happening around that time. Will you show some other greens during the Kickstarter?

Yes. The sculptor is working on more of the Highlanders and the start of the Lowlanders just now. I hope to have an update during the campaign showing them.

I've a fair number of Jacobites painted already but these were too good to miss and I'm hoping for the Hannoverians', there's a shortage of good, active, ranges for these.

Nearly there gents, only £643 to go. Even a low level pledge for 20 figures would give you a great skirmish force and you can work in Seven Years War British as proxy Government forces, so all those who game 7YW, French Indian War or indeed earlier can push back to the 1715 rising (just add in some of the Warlord sword and shield chaps/ Lochaber axes etc)
In looking at the figures on offer also don`t discount the lovely line drawings of the lowland Scots, both highlanders and lowlanders fought on both sides and not all were uniformed militia :D
Finally I want to see the Royal Ecosaiss too, French in Scots Service or dastardly plot for your games for the French to have a reason to invade England, the old enemy ;D.
Perhaps a lost or wrecked troop ship leaves French Re-enforcements or Scots fugitives marooned on the English coast. Can the locals rush to defend their shores, claim the booty or are there sympathisers to the Jacobite cause ;D :D

Last thing I need is a whole new period with a whole new bunch of figures to not paint. lol
Though if it were the '89 or the '15 (and both sides) I might be sorely tempted; because while I'm not really all that interested in battles, a Rob Roy skirmish game would be a lot harder to resist.

And for a 60 pound pledge a person could get one each of the Highlander packs, plus one each of the lowlander packs, and then add in 2 more packs of whatever they'd like. And then there is the Bonnie Prince figure given to anyone who pledges, and that figure is looking very good!
This campaign lost a backer, and then it picked up another 5 or 6. Only about $600 (445 pounds) more to go, so this one could happen!

Also, they've gotten past the pledge level for folks pledging 60 pounds or more to receive a complimentary John Roy Stuart figure.

Dunno what possessed me, but in the end I couldn't resist the idea of painting highlanders and have pledged 60 GBP. Well, hopefully for October -though I rather think December, being optimistic- I will have finished the Indian Mutiny project and will have a slot ready for the Highlanders... Now, I only need to find a compatible range of English, Hannoverians, French and Spanish (yep... I am already fantasizing about what-ifs where Bonnie Prince Charlie got the best of Cumberland at Culloden and French sent an expeditionary force to bolster the forces of their new best friend forever)

Well, what an end to the Kickstarter and one that I did not foresee. I just want to give a huge thanks to everyone who has supported us and gave me real encouragement. The campaign has been really successful and the hard work starts now for me to get you what you have paid for.
In the end, we reached £9,830 and this will be sent to me within the next couple of days from Kickstarter. This morning I told myself I would give another freebie miniature if we reached £9.5k. As we did this very comfortably I’m happy to say that everyone who backed at the Clifton Moor pledge level will also receive a free of the Highlander in trews charging with the Claymore.
Now there are no records of the great Claymore being used in 1745 but that’s not to say it didn’t happen. The last instance of them being used is assumed to be around 1690 in the Williamite Wars fought in Scotland. I’m of the opinion that one of the 1745 Highlanders could easily have taken their family heirloom to war with them. Also, he looks bloody awesome.
In the next few days, I will send out the details to collect your address and a few extra pieces of information. I will also provide updates on everything as it progresses. My sculptor has shown me some more work in progress shots and they are looking great. I will update everyone with the pics once they are completed.

I did not back, as I have to get some Victrix plastics this month (now with their free worldwide shipping even more so), and would have trouble explaining TWO large payments to the wife ::)
I expect to be visiting the range in the future, though, as I have always had a soft spot for this particular troubled period (starting with the RLS TV series 'Kidnapped' back in the 70's).

I did not back it either, as the mere idea of having to paint an entire army of car-rug and nightshirt bedecked hooligans appals me. Even my AWI highlanders are in overalls (not trews!). However, it does look like a fantastic deal for anyone who is happy to go blind painting plaid.

Halfords had loads of rattle cans last time I looked. It was in the section next to the camo paint. It's obviously not so popular here in the south. ;) :)
