Anyone seen these side by side?
How do they match up heftwise?
Am considering getting Perrys as the base of the force then adding some Offensive miniatures for variety and to round out the force with some LW stuff.
TIA

Well has anyone even see the Offensive Minis FJ's 'in the flesh'?
-
Not seen them in the flesh but there are OM and Perry comparison shots on their site.

They seem fairly compatible

Thanks for that Carlos I had not seen that page on their website
I wonder if there is much difference in size between Perry plastic and Perry metal WW2?
I do not buy plastic generally

That I can answer and it’s no, there isn’t much difference. I bought some of the Perry 8th Army in trousers to fill out my Eureka Australians and they are titchy little buggers by comparison.

I just bought some Offensive Mins FJ to supplement my Perry Cassino FJ force. So I got stuff that Perry doesn't do like their motorcycles and Feldpolizei guy. Offensive do a neat officer too.
The match is good sizewise. There are some differences in equipment - for example slightly different weapon sizes. Also the Offensive guys are equipped 'lighter' - they've got fewer bits of kit on their load carrying gear.
But apart from that, all good

I had some of the Offensive miniatures Fallschirmjager but I sold them.
In my opinion they DON'T fit very well with the Perry ones. In fact as nice as they are imho they don't really go that well with other makes of Fallschirmjager.

Ok thanks for the interesting first hand comments guys.
I was planning to fill out the range of Perrys for a Sicily /Italy force with Offensive minis basically adding a 4th section and some bits.
Westwaller what is it about them makes them not fit?
Is it sculpting style, size, heft or something else?
-
The OM Fallschirmjager are very slender and realistically proportioned and their equipment is different in scale. I'm not a massive fan of the Perry ones either to be honest some of their helmets are a bit small imo. You might feel that the differences between the OM and the Perry ones is not too great, but for me they looked a bit awkward side by side- I can't do a picture for you as I sold mine.
-
Thanks for that Westwaller.
I have seen the OM US paras and they were very nice but as you say slimmer and more realisically proportioned than the common 28mm stuff. My mate used them as markers for his para force.
So maybe I should go 100% with one or the other?

Buy a packet, ideally something that the Perry range doesn’t cover. If you don’t like ‘em it’s not the end of the world.
-
Ahh but then I would need a packet of Perrys too! o_o
-
The overall problem with the OM ones for me was that they were very static in their poses- almost toy soldier like, I felt. I only had one pack of eleven and only really liked about three of the poses as the don't really look like men engaged in battle. The Perry Falls are much better observed. Some of them are stopping as the are advancing for example. The only problem for me with the Perry ones is they are a bit rough in the casting and finishing, particularly on their faces unfortunately. I'm wondering about picking up some of the valiant plastics and putting their heads on the Perry bodies as I read somewhere they are similarly sized. Have you considered the Perry bros foundry ones? The other alternative might be the warlord plastics and metals. The plastic box set is quite good actually. I understand your problem as I haven't found a range of Fallschirmjager that I'm 100% happy with. o_o
-
Yes I did take a second look at the Perrys and some of their helmets are a little 'tight'
I will look at the Foundry ones again they were my first thought but the range is limited'
