Post by: Condottiere on March 28, 2018, 02:08:37 AM
From Daniel's Blog: Pieter Snayers(1592- 1667), The Battlepainter of the 17th Century (http://kriegsbuch.blogspot.co.uk/2018/03/pieter-snayers-battlepainter-of-17th.html)

Four hundred and twenty-two pages of German only text :( and 99,00 €, but well illustrated with an hundred of his paintings...

According to Amazon.de, it's for a May 1st release.

At last!  Snayers is an awesome and accurate painter, but I’ve spent a fortune travelling round museums taking pics of his work.  Expensive, but it will be worth it

There's a fantastic set of Snayers' work in the Army Museum in Vienna (Heeresgeschichtliches Museum). The canvasses are huge and such panoramic detail. You could lose yourself in them for hours... :)
