Hi
As a newby I thought I’d share some images from my forthcoming Salute demo game
Ian
-
I've seen various picture if this dotted around the net and it looks stunning 8)
Dave has done a cracking job on the fort :-*
-
Amazing! Outstanding! Cheers!
-
Very nice work :-* :-* :-*
I have played in a few 40mm games at Historicon and they do look impressive!
-
Cor, beautiful! :-*
-
Blimey , that's a masterclass . Even more stunning than 2 years ago . Brilliant figs and jaw dropping
Fortifications . They better hand first of show know , especially if the boys wear those rather fetching tight white t shirts again .
Should be a beano again.
-
Well....that is mighty big!
-
Well done Ian fully deserved best of show at Salute .
Really enjoyable weekend and great company . Enjoyed our vino beano very much even if it had some minor consequences , but well worth it.
Kind regards.

I think as I get older I appreciate the Vino evenings more than the actual shows - it’s always a pleasure to see you Robert and I look forward to receiving the deeds to my new Greek retirement home and I think you’ve got a bit of a bargain there ! 😂
-
Amazing looking setup, congratulations.

I understand that David Marshal built the fort and ironclad. How can I contact David to see how he built those models?
Thanks - Greg
-
Well he works under the business name of T M Terrain - if you Google him his contact details are there - The Ironclad I picked up half finished and I did the painting , guns and crew and super detailing - it’s basically made of balsa and smoke and mirrors !
-
Thanks Ian - I will pursue that path.
Greg

Sorry - I was so happy for a path to follow I ran too quickly - The ironclad is a wonderful gaming model. My brother is a professional model builder and those pictures are more than equal to his craft.

Superb Ian - sadly was in the States so couldn't make Salute - by a strange coincidence I visited Fort Sumter on the same day as the exhibition ! Can I sk you a couple of questions:
1. What is the main source of the figures (especially the US marines)
2. Where did you get all the wonderful guns on the fort ?
3. is the fort based on any specific one ?
Kind regards
Inspirational stuff - if you have more photos of this quality of your units please do put them up.

Fantastic! :o :o :o
I would also like to know more about the Marines. Is it a mix of manufacturers?
-
Superb Sir!

Thanks Greg
It’s the first time I’d ever done boats ( including the Whalers at the beach ) and using the AK weathering paints so all in all I’m pleased with how they came out

Jon
Marines are a mix of Foundry and Musket Miniatures in the States - formerly Trident
Guns are TA Miniatures - they are really 28mm
The fort is based on Fort McGee which is in Florida
-
Many thanks Ian - quite superb and the guns look pretty good too.

It was an outstanding looking game Ian, and aptly next to Bill Gaskin's plantation affair. The two best looking games at Salute this year!!!!!!!!! I have some photos of your game but imagine that you took a load already. If not, let me know.
