Title: Ironclad Miniatures VSF British Artillery Crew
Post by: Captain Darling on March 30, 2018, 12:19:24 PM
Before I go on holidays I finished painting up some Ironclad VSF British Artillery Figures that have been on my painting table for quite a while. I like any figure in a spiked helmet and these don't disappoint!

More details and pictures here, plus a picture of my finished VSF Scout Section...

Is it meant to be an automatic cannon ?  Why the two barrels ?

From the blog: "On Salisbury Plain British Gunners with Infantry support train in the use of their new their Automatic Fire Twin Barreled 6 Pound Field Gun..."

Okay, missed the two barrels at first glance, but then wondered about what was on top. Ammo drums? Bit confusing, as the shell the loader is holding wouldn't fit. And, wait, loader for autogun? ;D

Well, not like I don't live in confusion as it is.

Hi All,

Thanks for the comments!

Same deal as say German Quad 20mm during WW II auto loading plus more barrels equals even more firepower  :)

Hey Beast they’re a generic crew for all my VSF guns in a game the shell guy wouldn’t be used on this piece and the one with the sort of VSF thingee would be  :D

Cheers!

Looking at the picture in the blog, they definiitely appear to be ammo drums (there are two; one for each barrel).  As noted, not dissimilar to WW 2 German light anti-aircraft guns (which had up to four barrels).

Great, I already admitted 'Well, not like I don't live in confusion as it is' and you try to baffle me with facts. Well, I SORT of figured it out, but I do play the dummy well...  ;)
