Although I have a couple of books on WW1 Eastern Front, which cover the Kerensky Offensive, I was wondering if there are any books in English specifically about this operation?
I would particularly like to know about the organisation of the Russian army at this stage of the war. I appreciate with this Offensive being post the February revolution there was quite a broad variation in quality between units refusing to fight to units still quite motivated, the latter demonstrated by the initial success of the operation.
I was wondering if the self contained platoon level organisation instigated Late War in the British/Commonwealth, German and French armies of specialist LMG, rifle, rifle grenade and bombing sections had been attempted to any extent in the Russian army? Presumably the Russian encounters with the Germans reorganised in this way (and maybe the Austro-Hungarians) would have made an impression?
I know that Britain supplied large numbers of Lewis guns to Russia. But probably not enough for the whole army. The Russians also developed platoons rather than sections armed with grenades for close assault purposes as well as storm battalions, but I don’t know how these were organised.

I am not aware of anything so detailed in English. As you noted, the situation was very difficult at the time. I suspect (but have no evidence to confirm) that any attempt to describe a standard TO&E will not reflect what was happening in practice.

Alas, in English such literature is not known to me. Probably there is something in the "Osprey" of the Russian army of the First World War period.
Some information on the Russian "revolutionary" shock units Kerensky you can find in my forum. But it is in Russian - if you want to read it, I recommend using Google translator.
