This is all Britannia's fault, after not enjoying watching that I started playing Rome total war to get a Roman fix. This reminded me I'd bought a load of Roman figures a while back, which I've now started painting.
I'm not going for as good a standard as some of the others on here, but a looks alright on the table standard.
So to start off, we have a figure from Aventine to represent my general, the Legate Biggus.
Then a detachment of the Warlord auxilia.
And to finish off some Foundry cavalry.
Now there's the hundred odd legionaries and forty odd auxiliaries plus some foundry archers to do, while also looking covetously at the Victrix Romans, this might take a while.
Also this project needs more elephants.

You’ve certainly achieved a ‘looks good on a forum’ painting standard as well, ‘cos that looks good.

The green bases are also cool - nowadays many do a brown trim but the green compliments well.

A great looking start! I love to see legioneres lined up in formation like this.

cheers, the shelf they're all sat on at the moment looks rather intimidating, I need to get on with some more of these but things keep getting in the way.

So I have returned with a small addition, 10 more legionaries, after this it's more auxiliaries till I cut up some more bases to stick figures on.
To go with the project there's some terrain I've been working on, first up a generic tower of wonkiness....
Made with resin blocks cast in the Fenris moulds, I use them for overpour when casting other stuff and figured I should finally do something with the pile.

I'm tempted to do a force of Britons afterwards and I'm also thinking about adding a couple of units of Numeri to the romans. But that's for the future.

To make up for the total lack of progress with this project, I've got some of the scenery pieces that have been done recently. First up a couple of trees as you can never have enough trees, eventually these will get attached to bases otherwise they fall over a lot, then a statue because I can't remember why I bought the figure and as I hate painting flesh, statue it is. Finally some random bits of fencing to get in the way.
For actual progress with the army, I got round to cutting some more bases, enough to build another two blocks of the legion, I might even manage to glue something together soon.

This is really good stuff. You have a very different view of a total lack of progress to mine, looks like you've done loads and a really nice standard to boot. Is the figure you've made a statue from hasslefree?

The lack of progress is more because I've sort of stalled on the figures recently, though I do have a couple of sprues sat out waiting for me to attack with clippers. and yes the figure is Artemis from hasslefree.

I recognised that too. Great use for an otherwise difficult figure.
