Cross shaped Clear Bases - These are 25mm round bases, as an experiment we cut them down to a cross shape to see how they would work.

We were surprised that figure stability increased as the cross shape could sit between small rocks and other terrain detail instead of sitting on top at an angle and that figures could be placed easier in and around terrain and that figures could be placed a lot closer together than the 'open order' or round or square bases.

When Daeothar proposed it, I thought it was a pretty good idea.
I'm glad to see it working in action.
Who makes those figures you're using?

Works, really, really well.
Figures are Lucid Eye Simians.

I like it! ;D

Following the logic, wouldn't three legged bases be even more stable? I appreciate you may have to be more creative gluing the figures onto the correct arm, but they'd not be able to wobble.

I have recently purchased some clear plastic bases for experimenting with along similar lines.
