Post by: JamesValentine on April 23, 2018, 11:54:39 AM
First one of these Meng kits.
More parts than expected. But fun to build and paint.

Ha! Cute little fella. Nice one.

I remember back in the 80s when I used to do model kits as a hobby you could get cartoony planes a bit like these. At the time I sniffed at them, but the idea has grown on me in the intervening decades.

Nice painting - and yes, it's a cute little model.

Very nice. Just picked up my first of these kits  - did you hand paint or air-brush the model?

Sprayed Humbrol dark green over Halford grey primer
Details like MG and tracks Vallejo black grey.
then shaded with Foundry black wash and drybrushed Vallejo Iraqi sand

Thanks for that James.

Did you spray on the sprue or assemble first?

(I normally only tackle 28-35 mm minis and tanks are new to me to be honest).

Assembled first.
But off the base and with turret and wheels separate so I could spray behind and not leave any plastic exposed.
Then slap on transfers, paint it all up and glue all the components together...except the turret.
