its been a while since the Old West collection has some action . I took the opportunity of the Hammerhead show in the uk to give it a run out this weekend.

Cracking set up. I've seen this close up and it's very, very good.
-
Superb. Love the cattle drive.
-
Great to see it again. :)
-
Unfortunately I ran out of time to pop back and chat, I only gave the table a cursory glance on the way to grab a coffee. :?
I'll apologise I saw the game from behind the green building and the undertakers. From that angle the cattle seemed at odds with the table. In fact I think I said they looked Naff. I was wrong they definitely look the part when seen from that side of the train.
Mark.

Lovely spread :)

I seem to always get this oddly mixed feeling of sereneness and dread when viewing Serenity Flats - clearly a sad day for some folks what with the hearse carrying a load.
And, congratulations, I see you've properly based up your track.
Cattle drive? What cattle drive? I see cattle in stock pens awaiting shipment east to the slaughter houses. And that likely means a lively time tonight when those drovers, freshly paid, get to spending their money. Hope there are enough lawmen in town to maintain order.

Cheers , yes the track was on the list of jobs to get around to .. which I finally have gotten to.. :D
The law struggled ... big time!

Everything you would expect in a cow town.
Great setup.

Great table , it must have taken a long time to get to this stage , inspiring .
-
Thats a great collection of buildings and 'set dressing'. Are those the Ertl cows?
-
Hi Dave it was great to finally see Serenety in the flesh on Saturday, as I said at the time you have made a good job on the mdf builings, improving them beyond recognition in a lot of cases.
I was really dissapointed that i forgot my camera, yours was one of the stand out games in my opinion.
Cheers

Hi, yes indeed they are ERTL Longhorn (took a while to track them down on ebay) and Herefords (usually easier to find). Did a little bit of work on them , painting in eyes , a wash and a highlight if required, easy enough..

Thanks , I enjoyed the chat!

Russ and Company have threatened to do the hearse in 15/18 mm. By thunder, I sure wish they'd get on with it!
-
Very nice setup and modelling! :-*
-
Lovely atmospheric town, I’d have liked to see it close up. Great pictures.
-
Where did you get the pots/pans?

I'm posting to move this up to the top of the page because I've been 'jonesing' for threads like this and not enough of them are popping up. I know, a bit sad. But it's a great town for the Old West.
Like the population sign - don't remember if I noticed that before. Nice touch.
-
I saw this and thought - I don't remember seeing this at the show this year, and so I didn't, it is a great visual feast.
What does jonesing mean, I understand what you are doing but "Jonesing ?

Why thank you ... Serenity has been on the back burner for a bit ... I think I need to get a game going again . The population sign has been there since early days , maybe just didn’t make it into pictures

Brilliant! Such a lot of really nice details in this setting. Marvelous.

Vagabond, "jonesing" is American slang for salivating in anticipation, sort of but essentially that.
