May Day! May Day! May Day! May Day! A date for your diary, as we launch our first Kickstarter. Come and check out our campaign and help fund a new range of folk horror miniatures and rules for 7TV.
On 1st May, we'll be launching our first Kickstarter campaign! It will run for two weeks and aims to fund the production of over 20 miniatures and a new PDF Programme Guide and deck of profile cards for a folk horror cast - the Children of the Fields.
Children of the Fields has been an idea since 1st edition 7TV - based on one of Helena Nash's wonderful TV listings in the first rulebook. Inspired by many influences from the darker side of 70s children's television and fiction, this folk horror programme guide draws on the spirit of Summerisle, Devil's End, Mileaway, Milbury and many more to help create the village of Winterly and it's bizarre inhabitants. The miniatures have been brought to life by the talents of Ernst Veingart, Steve Saleh, Andrew May and Iain Colwell. If the campaign is successful it will unlock even more miniatures including two large resin creatures.

BUT... we need your help to spread the word. Feel free to froth manically about Crooked Dice to anyone who will listen. We recommend bus stops, post office queues and doctor's waiting rooms, as people rarely run away.

Our first Kickstarter campaign is live! We hope to fund a new folk horror cast with 20+ models in the core pledges. Plus there’s a new Programme Guide, profile cards and some new Arcana cards to work with the diabolic magicks of the strange inhabitants of the village of Winterly. There are a number of pledge levels to suit your budget plus an Add-On option where you can pledge a £1 and just pick out the sets you like. We hope the campaign will be successful and unlock the funds to produce lots more models. If all stretch goals are unlocked then we have over twenty more available to put into production. The first stretch goal is unlocked, so you can add a print version of the Children of the Fields Programme Guide to your pledges. It’s 40 pages of background, profiles, tactics, episodes and some stunning photography by Kev Dallimore - all for £7.
All the campaign stretch goals are Add-Ons, which work out cheaper than the final retail price. So simply add the value to your pledge and we will figure out what items you want in the pledge manager when the campaign ends.
This stretch and all the rest are free in the ‘To the Manor Born’ Pledge. I’ve shown some of the stretch goals, but there are more to come if things go mad (about 20 more figures in total), so pledging big gets you a hefty discount, plus also helps nudge the total to unlock more stuff.

You’ve also unlocked the second stretch goal - the Murder of Crows. Eight flapping and pecking little bleeders to do the Crow King’s bidding. Just add £6 to your pledge to get them.

The third stretch goal was unlocked overnight - the shambling servants of the Black Goat - the Husks…You can now add these five zombies to your pledge for £12 and help unlock the towering Strawman at 8K.

Having crunched the numbers, I'll likely sit out the campaign and wait for the [awesome] figures to arrive at the US stockists. I'll take a closer look when it gets down to the end, but it looks like shipping costs over here could run higher than the KS discounts.
Hope it does really well though!

NEW STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED+++
Well you’ve only gone and done it! The first of the large resin models - the Strawman - has been unlocked. I love this one. Sculpted by Andrew May, he stands 85mm tall. Special thanks to Andrew Taylor for the wonderful paint job on the display model too.
So you can now add the Strawman to your pledges for £13 - or it’s free with any ‘To the Manor Born’ pledges.

We’ve unlocked another stretch goal in our Children of the Fields Kickstarter
The May Queens are now available to be added to pledges for £12 – or free to all ‘Manor Born’ pledges. We’ll keep you updated on progress of the sculpts in the next couple of weeks.

I’ve also updated the goal levels for the next three stretches. Hopefully we can build on the cracking start to the campaign and work toward these over the weekend.
Traditionally Kickstarters go a bit quiet mid-campaign, so this is where we need your help to share posts, tell all your friends and generally make a nuisance of yourself frothing to strangers about Crooked Dice!
If we do really well, then I’ll share the next stretch goals images… who wants to see a Hobby Horse and Strawbear… or maybe even Lady Winterly riding her driftwood steed?
But meanwhile, we have the the Brood to unlock at £13k. Sculpted by Iain Colwell and painted here for display by Simon Bradley. Go get ‘em!

Another 'Huh' moment: Spy-Fi being tucked over here in Moderns would explain the dearth of 7TV topics in Pulp then.. huh.

Spy-Fi is pretty much symptomatic to 'Cold War', while the popular image of pulp tends towards the Pre-TV era. That aside the policy here has always been that the poster is usually the best person to decide where something should go. The Mods move stuff that is way off-base to where it truly belongs and delete identical topics, otherwise not much is set in stone here.
Modern Horror has no place of its own really and given the flexible nature of many of the miniatures, the 'Moderns Board' is as good a place as any I think.
I'm always happy to see CD releases here at least. :)

I have a soft spot for these monstrous cloven creatures… probably all those years at Devil's End. Wonderfully weird sculpts by Ernst Veingart. The Goat-Kin serve the Black Goat (also pictured), one of two factions in the Children of the Fields programme guide.
The four Goat-Kin will come free with any Manor Born pledges or can be added on to any existing smaller pledges for £12 (RRP £15).

I was wondering when Little Lord Winterly would appear. :)
I imagine the list is pretty endless, but I'm surprised no Molly Dancers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molly_dance) have made an appearance. They would be the perfect companions for the Mummers, or even 'wives' for the Hurdy Gurdy Man. Then there are some evil-looking 'vertically-challenged' henchman (a la Simba, Tiktik & Pebbil) that might be an option.
I'm sure the 7TV rendition of all of these would be suitably weird. :)
