Well, not quite but close enough :)
Got another commission under way of five or six buildings to be made in the style of the Sleepy Hollow film but leaning more towards you're standard AWI/FIW look.
First building on the go is a stables/barn. A simplified version of the one in the film.

Ye Gods man - do you never sleep?
Or are there more of you than you let on...... ;)

I think the fantastic idea about these buildings in sleepy hollow (version from Tim Burton) was these strange architecture with nearly imposible structures. So, maybe you should try to bring this in:

Got all the timber work done, will give it a primer coat of the base colour and then stick the tiles on along with the doors.

Not really a requirement of the commission I’m afraid mate. It’s more of a historical version.

Superb! The overlapping weather board effect is clever. How did you pull that off, with what looks like balsa? Any tips ‘n’ tricks gratefully stolen.
-
I agree about the weather boards. Same balsa you used for Limehouse? 8)
-
Thanks :)
It's just thin balsa wood cut by hand and stuck on. One of the requirements was for it to look like the Limehouse weatherboarding.
-
Superb! Can wait to see how this develops.
-
I look forward to seeing painted ;D
-
Painting is done, just the doors to do and the groundwork then it's on to the next one :)

I'll get some decent photos done when it's finished.

Coming along nicely!
-
oh the roof the roof ;D ;D
-
Bang Tidy! Like the green tones on the individual roof shingles
-
This looks fantastic.
Well done.
Tony

Great progress,roof shingles are outstanding :-* 8)
-
Thanks chaps :)
Slight change as there will be no bases on these, which is a shame as I enjoy doing groundwork.
-
That is a fantastic build and some great painting especially the roof. :-* :-*
-
I love that roof mate! The different tones add sloop much realism and interest! :-*

Forgot to update this thread with some wips but the first four are complete. Courthouse and blockhouse to follow.

‘Fraid not mate, just a courthouse and a blockhouse.

Top job, lovely colour pallet

Courthouse is done. Had a slight accident with the blockhouse roof so I’ll post that when it’s done.

That’s striking. Lovely. :-*
-
Lovely weathering James
-
Seems the painters managed to give the door a fretting up but seem to have run out of whitewash.
Love the colors on the barn - missed this thread until now. Will be using the barn colors as inspiration.
-
These are wonderful! Very fitting for an AWI table. I like the aesthetic very much!

???
I'm taking a guess that that's a reference to the unpainted rear door? That's really the first thing you thought of to say?
-
That's a truly beautiful piece of work. I take my hat off to you.
-
Bloody marvellous! That’s truly top notch work James.
-
Superb, top notch painting all round especially the doors ;) ;D
-
Awesome work James.
One question... I like that embossed stone plastic sheet you've used on the base... who produce it?
-
Thank you kindly chaps :)

Wills plastic sheets.

Not sure what you're on about there. The doors are painted blue and olive/drab respectively :?
-
Thank you! ;)
-
Gawjus!

Fantastic job on the weathering! :o
