Finally got round to starting my 28mm build of Khartoum (actually any middle eastern city) and the first shots of the layout and first tile are now complete

Looks superb!
-
Really nice but …….
It looks nothing like me :)
-
That is looking very cool. Where are the buildings from?
The place also looks like a good place to crash a Blackhawk.
-
The buildings in the centre of the town, where are they from?
-
Impressive!
-
Really, really cool.
On an historical point of needless nitpickery, I don't think Khartoum has ever been a walled city. It's a bit too new for that. The defences at the the time of the siege were earthworks, a mile from the city.
But it's still a lovely and versatile piece of kit.
-
Wow! :o
It’s a massive building project. Impressive! Thanks for sharing!
-
You're mad. Absolutely mad. I like it! That will be very impressive when finished. I hate to think of the price (15mm would be expensive enough but 28!)
-
Superb work - really like the city walls
-
Fantastic start mate! :o
I’m amazed by the amount of soo many good quality, large projects going on, on the LAF at the mo!
Is this your game for BLAM?

As always Giles, you dont do things by half. :o :o Amazing build.
-
Really, really cool.
yes. and the only big, and multi story building was the massive governors residence.

But it's great work here. and besides, I've never seen two Lhartoum tables that looked anything alike :)

Impressive!!!
The buildings are great, but I know how much labour that is required for carving out the foam stone paving. i bow my head in awe :)
-
Bloddy hell Giles! That looks amazing.
I am totally going to nick the idea of a teacandle lantern for the minaret. Now I just have to pick one that Mss. Zombie won't notice going missing.

Just wow. Between this table and your escarpments you could run a whole pulp campaign on two 5X10 tables.

That’s spectacular! As others have mentioned, it’s quite versatile too.

Great stuff!
