Title: Painting and Weathering an AT-ST

Anyone have any interesting ideas for painting and weathering an AT-ST (SW Legions scale)?

I am trying to come up with something more interesting than 2-3 shades of gray and a Nuln-oil wash that still looks consistent with what we have seen in movies and cartoons.

My son wants it to be winter-forest themed, like Salzburg during early winter where there is still a lot of green visible through the snow.

Mud/slush around the bottom of the legs and plenty of rust (depending how long it's been there for).

Of course, if you want it 'canon' it'll have to grey I'm afraid  lol

True, but I am looking for some ideas that are not canon but still look Star Wars-ish.

Here's mine (Imperial Assault) - I went with an overall dark (almost reddish) sand look - as bland as the Star Wars grey, but different, and easy to 'dust up' by drybrushing lighter shades.

Admittedly these are Imperial Assault rather than Legions, but I washed the grey with some dusty yellowish sand colour too.

I've not done any of these but here are some ideas...
Shadow trooper dark grey with lighter mud weathering around the feet and up the legs?

Top half sky camo (isn't there a USA helicopter pattern?) With lower legs in a tree/foliage camo pattern. Not sure who it would work but it strikes me as the only camo that may work for something tall as a walker! Maybe not that exciting?

Battlefront shock trooper style atst?
