Highly original and fanciful scene, Dylan, and again I'm asking myself on how many different areas of miniature collecting and painting you are secretly working ... I really hope we will see more of your beautiful work in between the LPLs in future ...

I also greatly admire your technique with eyes. Many people paint eyes - they look like bugs (this is why I always just leave dark slits). Yours look blinkin' real :o
Dylan, you have out-Germanned the Germans right the way through this LPL with your eclectic, dioramic storytelling. Kudos. I think you'd have given Frank and the Prof a real run for their money. The element of surprise has been a wonderful bonus right the way through, you dark horse / sly dog you :D

Another well deserved notch on your belt Dylan, with the added benefit that I now have the theme tune in my head for the foreseable future. :D
I can't help feeling that something has gone a bit wrong if I've made it to the final but there's no doubt that the best man has it this year!

Feel like a bit of a fraud, here, Keith. You are the better painter. I just seem to have tapped into something the LPL voters respond to this year. Anyway, it has been great clashing brushes with you again, and it ain't over yet. I love those Romans of yours, I can only parrot the other comments. Just phenomenal.
Feels odd all of a sudden, not having to do one for next week.

That thing you tapped into is called 'fun' and you did it brilliantly. :-)
I think I took the 'line of figures' approach about as far as I could, but without the X-Factor it will always be lacking. For anyone interested my last entry is supposed to hint at my first - these are Romans in their prime, wheras my first entry was the same thing at the tail end of the decline. It was also the only figure I could find that looked like he was waving goodbye (hence the name too). Let's face it, if that's my idea of fun I probabaly need to dig a little deeper next time :D

Didn’t comment much this season but visited this board weekly and had a lot of joy looking at the entries. Dylan and Keith, you guys have delivered an outstanding performance this year. And I’m talking not only about the quality of the painting or photographing, it’s the variety in your entries which made me so delighted. Especially Dylan, being a colonial conservative and someone who kind of left the painting for several years, truly surpassed himself. What a comeback! Every week, looking on his entries I had to think, damn, I would love to paint the same miniatures and to build up the same scene.
But not only Dylan surprised me, I’m equally excited about Keith’s performance. I knew that Keith can paint like a god, being unbelievable crisp and clear on the strokes and highlights. But seeing all this glory weekly with some lovely terrain in the background is really the next level of pleasure. Very well done, Keith!
Thank you both, and please keep painting, really hope to see more from you guys in the future.

Well, I can't deny it. My custom title hints at the alleged bastardy-tarred Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha heritage of my forebears. So I have all those generations chinless wonders in southern Germany to thank for my success so far in this year's LPL.
I'll say hi to cousin Meghan from you guys when I see her. ;)

Really weird, I saw the semi-finals for three weeks and never was able to vote the later rounds... :(. In any event, SUPER entires as always!!!!
