I wonder if anyone can suggest a way of getting Humbrol silver gloss paint off a plastic model?
It appears that most things I've heard about melt the plastic - that would, as they say, not be optimal!

Dot4 brake fluid.
Put it in a plastic container for a couple of days minimum, with models fully submerged.
Then rinse the models under running water and scrub with an old toothbrush where necessary. The stuff won't eat the plastic but loosens paint and glue bonds.
Just don't let it touch your skin, and dispose of it in a correct manner; as chemical waste.
Alternatively, if you're in the US, use a cleaning agent called Simple Green: it's the best I've ever used. It too is safe for plastics and better still; it's environment friendly...

Acetone with a brush. Its cheap too. Nail varnish remover - clear stuff @99%. Its not too harsh and, as long as your not drinking it or breathing it in in gas tanks full, safe to use.
Brush on or dip. Leave, and the paint will start to react, once its started add another coat and then wash off.
Also a good de-greaser for metal figures.

THAT will eat your plastic away... Brake fluid is indeed the way to go. Don´t expose your skin to it though, it will certainly eat your skin after a while.
