Title: FOGR Artillery Basing Query
Post by: Plutarch64 on July 13, 2018, 02:24:25 AM
I have been working my way through an Ottoman Turk army for FOGR and am now up to the completion of some artillery. The suggested base size for each piece including crew appears to be 60mm x 80mm for 28mm figures, but that seems a little deep to me.

Is that what people use, and what would be the suggestion for smaller artillery pieces? I'd be very interested in any feedback people may have.

For FoGR in 15mm, guns/limbers, elephants, generals and dragoons are all on 40mm square bases, but for some reason there is more variation in the depths of their 28mm equivalents. Some are 60mm deep (generals, dragoons, limbers), others are 80mm (guns and elephants).  I'm not sure why, it may just be for ease of fitting the figures on.

I second that. So, if it fits in a 60mm square base, I think it'll be OK.

Great, thanks to you both for the feedback. I think I'll go with the 80mm depth then, but drop it back to 60mm for smaller ordnance.
