Title: 28mm early ww1 range(Steve Barber Models)
Post by: Gribb on August 20, 2018, 07:04:21 PM
Steve Barber Models has released several miniatures based on the first year of the conflict.

https://www.stevebarbermodels.com/107--world-war-one (https://www.stevebarbermodels.com/107--world-war-one)

There are a variety of new poses that differ from other manufacturers.
Also including head packs with 12 individual heads in each that can be used for conversion.
So far there are for French infantry in kepi and Zouaves.

I've used them to convert GWM French which imo fit perfectly. Scale wise they are compatible with GWM and Mutton Chop.

Most of the miniatures come with heads unattached to allow for greater variety.

Released so far:

I have ordered some of the Zouaves, Germans and head packs and they are a joy to paint.

And there are more to come.

He keeps adding updated on his facebook site on the process of the range.

Very nice. I like the last sculpt of the chap practicing his ventriloquist skills in a quite moment before battle.  ;)

Congrats on having Steve commission your work! I wish you all the best for your project. My project is having Steve sculpt miniatures for the Hungarian Up-Rising and First Italian War of Unification 1848-49.

All the best,

Helen

Thank you Helen.  Steve has done a wonderful job on your ranges. Lots of variety in units and nice uniforms. The Hungarian command group in particular attracted my attention. Its a very interesting period that I have not seen done before.
Best of luck to Your project as well.

Thanks very much, however, alot of the kudos must go the Geoff and Ed whom have participated in commissioning a number of miniatures some of which are awaiting to be released. I've came in early last year when Geoff was starting both campaigns. I'm just fleshing out the ranges starting with Hungary and Austria and eventually Italy.

I love the General Bem vignette. One of my favourite commissions.

All the best,

Helen

Steve has just finished sculpting a new Zouave trumpeteer:

- Update on German Hussars:
Seperate arms for the Hussar are considered so that gamers can decide if they want them holding lance, sword or carbine. In that case 2-3 variants of each option will be provided over time.
