The next Frostgrave Nickstarter will start in a week or so.
It'll feature all metal figures, miniatures of the new wizards, characters and creatures from the supplement book, The Maze of Malcor.
Here's a selection of some of the new models:
-
Wow :-*
I don't know what they are, but some really wonderful figures there. Looking very Hogwarts :)
-
I'm liking these 8)
-
Nice figures.
-
I remember some of these from the newsletter. Some awesome miniatures to be found here!
Very much looking forward to the Nickstarter.
Will the Nickstarter also feature the female version of the Frostgrave Soldiers box or will this box be revealed later?
-
The female soldiers are a release after this Maze of Malcor one.
-
Gives me time to assemble more Gnolls :D!
Thank you very much for the reply!
-
Nice sculptures and intreresting minis! :)
Can't wait for female soldiers btw ;)
-
Man oh man, these are really spurring me on to get back into the swing of painting my collection. I still have some unfinished models of the first releases... Let alone the following...
-
Here's the Coalman, painted by Kev Dallimore, part of the Nickstarter.
-
The coalman looks great. Very well painted.
-
It is nice. Reminds me of one I cast myself in resin made of actual stones GSed together.
-
I love the Rangifers, hadn't seen them before I saw the fella at the top and had to check them out. I love Beastmen types and between these and the Gnolls and Snakemen I'm really tempted to make a few warbands out of them, maybe even go as far as armies.
Love the other figures as well, very neat!
-
Scary looking spidery things (does anyone remember the last series of Lexx?).
That construct looks good.
Excellent paint job on the Coal Man.
Looking forward to the female soldiers as well.
-
Reminds me that I forgot to get the Rangifer group just before it went off the store... :?
Just about to paint the first plastic soldiers, as soon as the Old School Fantasy Painting Party is over, and there's definitely some of those new ones I'd like to add to my collection.
-
Looking forward to the female soldiers as well.
They confirmed elsewhere that female soldiers would not be part of this Nickstarter but see a seperate release in a few months time instead.

Newsletter today says the Female Soldiers will be included now, with a slight delay in starting time. For me, that is great news and changes this Nickstarter from a likely skip to a must have. Wasn't super keen on just a bunch of metals, which while lovely are really quite specific to a campaign I'm not playing right now. Love the look of the female soldiers.
-
These will be very useful additions to the kitbasher’s kit of parts!
-
Pony tail! We can now use this to convert suave 90's businessmen!
-
nice email sprue!

Hi Everyone
This next Nickstarter has turned into the biggest we've done since the launch.
We're not only adding all the new Wizards, characters and monsters from The Maze of Malcor, but we're adding the new plastic Female Soldiers, both the plastics and the metal Specialists.
It's happening this week.
-
Fantastic new miniatures! Very much looking forward to these as they will add add tons of variety to the existing range. How cool is that barbarian? 8)
-
That barbarian is brilliant, and as someone who loves NPC type models I obvisouly think the herbalist is brilliant!
-
Yes, very excited for the other specialists, although my Frostgrave collection is reaching mass-battle-game proportions! Well, the good thing is one can use these miniatures for about every other fantasy-ish system as well...
-
I shall need to get that herbalist, as I have a certain younger White Knight von Weisz daughter needing an old lady providing her with apples... ::)
I cannot spare any money for minis right now (the upcoming annual Magical Days in Odense (formerly Harry Potter Festival Odense) is draining my funds as my daughters needed new uniforms for attending Hogwarts, and I am complementing my own attire with some bits and bobs), but I am looking forward to browsing the extended range somewhen after Christmas!
-
Oh my word!!
How can it be that you consistently manage to up the ante in terms of coolness, while still keeping the aesthetic right, and every single miniature exactly fits within my personal taste?!?
Incredible!!!
-
Wow, I am really looking forward to those Female Soldiers and other types. My wife and daughter will be super happy. Looks like 2019 might be the year for Frostgrave in my house!
-
Loving both those Specialist figures! That female with the two handed sword really looks like she could kick ass, and the way the woman with the basket is peeping over her glasses just gives the figure that extra character. Can't wait for the next Nickstarter.
-
I think...we might be ready to launch the new Nickstarter tomorrow.
There will be 5 different deals, you can buy into the new figures as deep as you want. The deals get you the 'spend goals', but you will be able to buy the packs on their own as well.
I'll put a link here when we're ready to roll!

Beautiful figures. The female soldiers box is a must have.
-
Oh, my... Those bards/musicians... :o
-
A really tempting offer.
-
I can't tell if the metal figures are all Copplestone sculpts, but some of them definitely are by their faces. Wonderful figures. I have absolutely no use for them whatsoever, but I'm sure I'll get some :)
-
I believe all of the metal 'soldiers' are Copplestone.
-
The metal Specialist Soldiers are Mark Copplestone.
The Wizards are Giorgio Bassani
A big bunch of the monsters and the Wraith are Giorgio
The Bird and the Wolves are Jason Wiebe.
-
This is a good deal and a nice way to get a variety of different miniatures in one haul... I ordered everything.
-
That one wizard has what one might call: "a Mighty Fine Hat!" Love the "Dying Earth" vibe. :)
-
Great looking miniatures, especially the female soldiers. And the new wizard poses are excellent as well! Will definitely get some of them.
-
Great news.
The Nickstarter is going very well. Everyone involved will be getting two free Wizard Shade figures, and entered into two prize draws.
The first prize is for the winner to work with Joe to design a monster for one of the next supplements. The second prize is to get, for free, one each of next years Frostgrave and Ghost Archipelago book releases.

Kev has been adding photos of lots of the new miniatures painted. Click on and have a look.

The female Elementalist and apprentice are great figures. :-*

We've gone over the 6th Spend Goal.

That means we'll be holding a prize draw, and the winner will get a figure of The Wraith of Malcor, painted by Kev Dallimore.
-
Here's some of the new plastic Female Soldiers, painted and photographed by Kev Dallimore.
-
Great figures and the brushwork is stunning.
-
yes superb figs and painting.
thought it was dallimore (by the specs on one of the figs!) from the newletter pics. At least I assume those were by him too?
but whoever, great jobs.
get's an incredibly velvety tone these days.
(bit gutted to discover, I think, that he uses AP paints now, having just bought a load of foundry triads!).
-
Kev's a North Star staff member, has been for a few years now, which is why most figures are done by him. But just because of the sheer volume of new figures we get, the likes of Andrew Taylor, Roy Duffy, Dave Woodward and Chris Adcock pitch in as well.
Kev has moved onto AP paints for a few reasons. After Foundry ignominiously stop employing him a few years ago, both he and I are hardly falling over ourselves to promote their products. Especially when it's 'from us only' type products. I think if Foundry paints were as readily available as AP paints, we'd have a different opinion. And linked to that, we stock AP paints so can keep him resupplied, rather than buying from Foundry. And I don't think his work has suffered. In fact he admitted, the three paint style was making him a little lazy, and moving to AP Paints meant he upped his game a bit.
-
oh, right.
well, he's getting fantastic results either way - very distinctive style - as I say, 'velvety' ...
-
Very nice - I ordered the female warriors. :)
-
It's the last weekend everyone. The Nickstarter ends at Midnight a week today.

It's the last day of the Nickstarter. I think we'll hit the 7th Spend Goal looking at the orders coming in this evening.

This is the painted Wraith of Malcor miniature that a Nickstarter participant will win. We'll be holding a prize draw involving everyone who ordered a Level 2 to 5 deal on Tuesday, and the winner will be sent this figure. Figure painted by Kevin Dallimore.
-
Lovely PJ on that mini. I like they black face and glowing eyes.
-
Yep. A sumptuous piece of Dallimore art. Whoever wins that is going to be a very happy bunny :)
-
I can't wait for plastic wizards.
-
I can't wait for plastic wizards.
I second this!
-
Are they planned?
-
I like the idea of plastic wizards but already have so many that I don't know if I would buy them. I haven't painted 3/4 of the Frostgrave wizards I have yet.
-
I can't wait for plastic wizards.
Sounds interesting. My next catch will be the female soldiers Box.

Cool. Good to know. Thanks
