Thanks for posting. I too have troops gathering dust. Including a matched pair of
Sassanids & late Romans (25mm DBM) which no-one wanted when I tried to sell
as a pair, well I wouldn't want to be left with just one of them.
I shall purchase a copy of TTS & dust them off.

Good game and love the chariots. Our local group love TTS too, I've stopped searching for a good ancients set of rules after trying it. Easy and lots of fun.

Terrific AAR and pics!  :)

TtS! is truly an excellent Ancients rule set.

Nice AAR. I got into TtS in sort of the same way. My Punic armies suddenly had enough miniatures for this fun new game, and they had never actually seen a wargames table before.

Just as you did I also play it a lot with my 10-year-old son and his friend. We have tried Punic Wars and various medieval periods with great success. I have asked then if they want to try out different rule systems, but they like TtS, because the rules are easy to pick up and allows them to concentrate on the tactics instead. Something that is far from easy to pick up, and they are learning it the hard way.

Cheers
Erik

Glad the game was fun!  I love to see kids play- I do have a vague plan for engaging the youngsters, with a future set....

Great game.  I have still never played TtS, but all the game reports look great and it seems to play the way I imagine a real battle would go.   I am envious that you can get your family to play.  I got into skirmish gaming in a hope I could entice a daughter or my wife, but with no luck.
I hope your daughter will play many more games.

Yeah, after further research from seeing this great chariot set up , To the Strongest seems like a great game. May have to try it out soon.

That's a Sagebrush Steppe mat with a cross grid, probably the 8' x 6' 15cm grid. I had that designed for Raphia. :-)

As Simon says, that's the 8' x 6' Sagebrush mat with the "visible but invisible" cross grid. Bought from the To The Strongest shop, arrived within three days #topservice.
