Chuck 'Baldy' Dodson stood staring up at the clear blue and reminisced about his time flying for the Hat in the Ring Squadron.
Going fast by the road on his custom trike was one thing but chasing Fritz through the clouds now that was a thrill! Wind singing through the wires the chatter of the guns and the smell of burnt cordite blasting through your senses was what made you feel alive.
Chuck had been lost in thought so long he almost forgot the telegram he received last week from his Pal all the way over the sea from merry old England. These days his Pal workes at the Westland Aircraft Factory designing new and wonderful concepts.
Then out of the big blue he received his telegram telling Chuck to meet him all the way out here in the middle of nowhere in the U.S.of A.
A gust of wind kicked up the dust and brought along with it the sound of an engine he longed to hear but had no chance of achieving at his current rate of funds and means.
A speck in the sky was all he could discern but with his sharp eye sight that was what kept him alive all those battles ago began to take shape but not in the conventional way he was used to seeing.
With a blast of speed the strange shape blasted over Chuck's head with enough force to almost knock Chuck over his Trike.
Taking a good look at the madman in the Cockpit he spied his Pal waving joyfully back at him.
Chuck stood waiting for is Pal to finish taxiing to a final stop when he jumped out with huge grin and stated with great wave of his hand Chuck meet your new ride the Westland Pterodactyl!
