Sculpted by David Sodorquist of Bronze Age Miniatures. I'll be using him as my Ranger for Rangers of Shadow Deep. We are doing a Norse theme, pretty excited to use this cool system. More to come!

More BA Northmen:

Great figures and great painting. Thanks for sharing. The barbaric splendor guy probably teases the other guys about being wimps for needing clothes...
-
Thanks for sharing! Of course I am pleased to see work from my line, but also love those Northmen - going to have to pick some up!
-
Thanks! New game from Osprey, Ragnarok, is on the horizon...
-
Lovely brushwork on some top sculpts.

Interested.
Fantasy or Historical ? Skirmish ?

Very nice paint, LeadAsbestos, and the rules sound interesting ;)

What an epic duel!!
-
Lovely painting :-* :-* :-*
Should be called the "Battle of the sideburns" though :D
-
I wasn't a big fan of the initial figure (the archer) but the rest are fantastic. And that battle scene is epic! Great stuff.
-
Love that Giant. You've done an awesome job on it.
With the next Bones coming out in a few months I have a few more Hill Giants on the way. Almost a whole tribe.
-
Great scene and painting! Now you just need to get that Blood Rage Mountain Giant to use!
-
This scene looks awesome. Great job.
-
Thanks for the pep talk! Next time, Grendel! :)

Lovely work, mate.
They look great rampaging together like that.
:-* :-*

Those are some nice figures. Proper barbarians. They are how I picture Joe Abercrombie’s ‘The First Law’ trilogy Northmen.

Agreed - good stuff LA :D

I really like those miniatures and paintjobs. I really like the striped pants and the way their blond hair turned out. I've always struggled to paint blond hair.
I'm working on painting my copies of these miniatures right now, and this gave me some inspiration. Thanks the sharing.
-
Great stuff Chris!
-
I like those last couple photos, the variety of colors harmonize really well and that tree is excellent!
-
Beautiful painting. I especially like that the female figures are in believable clothing/armour. I agree with Dr Mathias, the colours do harmonise well, but I would also say the blond hair is well done - I think this is often hard to do realistically.
-
I really like the Bronze Age Miniatures models, but hadn’t seen their Vikings yet. Very good painting. Not too cartoonish, but very well done in a pseudo-realistic way. Very nice!
-
Super nice, very inspiring. I've got a batch all primed and ready for color. This will give me something to aspire to.
-
Thanks, everyone! I'm just crazy over this line, and I'm working my way through the collection. More to come soon, I hope!
-
Great figures, great painting, great terrain!
One question, though. If they are "bronze age", why do they all seem to be sporting steel weapons? <g>
Also, I think we have some of the same plastic aquarium plants for our jungles. Have you tried painting any of them, to cut the sheen on the bright colors?

Nope. I'm lucky I did this without wandering away! ::) :)
-
Nice look with the Bronze Age stuff. I painted some of the same Northmen for my RoSD ranger and companions, too!
-
Troll, from Bronze Age Miniatures, 1 of a set of 3. I'll be using them for RoSD and The Dolorous Stroke if our Viking Saga campaign gets off the ground.

Now that's a splendid troll. Looks as though he's stepped straight out of a John Bauer illustration (that's a compliment).
-
Lovely work on a great miniature!
:-* :-*
I have a bunch of these for my OGAM Norse army and really should get them done at some point.
You may have just bumped them up the queue for me.
:D
-
Very nice. I really like the style of Bronze Age Miniatures (even though none of their minis are actually from the Bronze Age).
That troll is really fantastic!
-
Thanks! They really are my favorite line of minis going. There are two more of this set, and I just got the excellent Dwarf trolls set during their annual sale. :)
In my dream world, David from BA takes Tre Manor from Red Box under his wing, teaches him how to scale his minis up to a proper size (and gives them correct sized heads!), and they run off into the sunset and make the world's most perfect line of Trudvang miniatures. :-* :-* :) :) ;)
-
Excellent! I like the way it came out, good color choices.

lol lol lol
Yes, Trudvang rings that same bell with me and Bronze Age has the perfect minis for the setting!
(I like the old Pendragon RPG even better for a vision of a cool Dark Age North, but it lacks Paul Bonner‘s art)

The second Troll, one to go!
-
Overall very nice models and nice painting! Noticed only now that we share the same preferences in backdrop gaming mats and aquarium decoration scenery - a good choice, mister! (You're better photographer than I.)
-
Lovely stuff!

The gang ready to re-enter the Shadow Deep! Been away from the project for too long, so tomorrw I plan to rectify that. Re-jigging some Trudvang RPG scenarios for the RoSD system.
Details to follow, if it doesn't suck! ::)
-
Lovely stuff all around.
Looking forward to further details of your adventures!
I've been a fan of Trudvang since it was introduced as the world of "Drakar & Demoner 6" - but just the other week was actually the first time I got to play the RPG!

A big fellow from Bronze Age Miniatures, currently acting as Captain for my Frostgrave warband, also shown with his employer, the Illusionist Opus Magnum, from Otherworld.
-
I just undercoated that Underworld wizard yesterday! I've been putting off painting any of my OW figs because I've been worried about doing them justice, but I've finally decided that I'm being ridiculous ;D
-
Love that captain. The green skintone looks great.
