What would readers suggest for the above?
Many Adobe buildings a around but none specifically Mexican or south American colonial eg converts hacienda

I'd suggest scratch building as you probably won't find anything really suitable at that scale.

Dover Publications has a cut-and-assemble Pueblo Village book that's 1/72. I can confirm the scale because I own a copy. There were and are pueblos in Mexico:

The California Mission building kits usually don't list a scale. Those I've seen in the flesh have been 1/48 or larger. But here is a printed cut-and-assemble book for Mission San Fernando Rey de Espana. Even if it turns out to be too big, you could scan the pages and reduce them to 1/72 scale:

The closest but not the same you will find are some arab style buildings that you may use.
Depending on the quantity you need why not contacting Sarissa if they can do some in 20mm?
I made some for 20mm though not mexican style.

There are a number of paper modeling resources, if that's your style of craftiness.
The old Airfix Fort Sahara plastic model could pass for a Presidio in Sonora, or farther north in California or New Mexico. There is a lot of mutual influence between Spanish and North African architecture. The model is long OOP but can still be found...I have one:

Looked st the paper ones but going to go with some generic MDF Adobe from blotz a d Ebay
Really wanted a large central piece like church convent etc a d will try to scratch build
Problem is variations in style rather like figures from different ranges
Shell hole have nice small buildings

Hi Sakura,
Just curious, how are the faces on the Revolutionaries horrible? Squinting at the photos on their site they seem okay (with big moustaches, which is always good!). Only asking because I'm sometimes tempted to get into this project and I rather like the look of their figures.

sakura, a bit to the left of your question, but I think you will find the Blue Moon 15/18 mm range of Old West buildings (not Mexican) useable for 20 mm figures. I bought a the lot and am struggling with how to mix them with my other 15 mm buildings from Peter Pig and Stone Mountain and others. They are pretty big. I get the sense that all of their buildings are meant for skirmish games based on their size.
So, if you head a little north for Old West gaming, keep that in mind.

I would recommend the shellhole range despite the faces
It is hard to paint beyond the big moustaches and there is a lack of definition beneath the moustache I find hard to distinguish
It is a fantastic period
I have the scenic accessory set mentioned and it is good value
I will look at the blue moon buildings as quite often a scale lower fits well
Again I would not let my views detract from the shellhole scenic range

I dont know if Imex ever released a box of mexican banditos/revolutionaires they had for a long.
