This weekend has provided me with some time to finish off my Vickers Machine gun and progress further with my Australian Infantry Platoon as CANCON is getting closer.
I have scratched built the Vickers gun and converted Perry plastic 28mm figures as the crew. follow the link for more pictures and information:
cheers John

Cracking stuff John. I did a similar conversion of 8th Army Perry plastics into long trousers for a force for the Italian campaign. But I have to say you've done a much better job because you've filed the shorts down more than I did. I've ended up with ballooning trousers!
Out of interest, why did you scratch build the Vickers rather than using the Perry one?

Beautiful work! Please may I enquire as to what paints did you use for the uniforms?

Thanks guys for your comments. :)
Eclaireur I like to sometimes scratch build or modify stuff as I had purchased a couple of boxes of the Perry 8th army at less than half price I had abundant of figures left over , so I made my own Vickers. :)
Hang Tuah The base colour of the uniform is Vallejo model colour Olive Grey, ( for the highlights I lighten it with Vallejo model colour Iquai sand) ,the webbing is VMC Khaki and again for highlighting I lighten the colour with VMC Iquai sand. The slouch hat is VMC English uniform and the helmet is VMC Russian uniform.
I hope to post a Tutorial on painting them soon.
cheers John
