Title: Satyr Studio in San Francisco
Post by: Satyr_Studio on January 18, 2019, 02:35:43 AM
Though some of you here already know me, this is Drew Day Williams, from California. I've been encouraged to join LAF for quite a few months now, by colleagues as well as friends met up with at BOYL. Here I am!

I'm just getting familiar with everything this hour, but I'm a bit confused about advertising; is there somewhere/someone who I can pay for sponsorship, or is it a closed process reserved for known associates and entities?

Thanks!

Drew

Hi Drew.  What's BOYL?  What do you mean by sponsorship?  Nice to "meet" you.

Bring Out Your Lead? The Oldhammer gathering over at Wargames Foundry near Nottingham. Several people I met there commented about LAF. Suggesting that it could be a great place to connect with like-minded hobbyists.

It was also suggested by some friends I met at Kubla Con.

As for sponsorship, I was referring to the banner adds here. At first I expected there to be a tool such as with TMP, but so far I haven't seen one.

I've a small range of fantasy figures that I created, and was contemplating a monthly budget of advertisements. But if that's not a thing that LAF normally does, that's fine too.

Hi Satyr Studio,

the LAF does not charge for you making advertisements, however the banner ads are reserved to the current owner, North Star Miniatures.

You are welcome to open a running thread in the Commercial section for special events or anything that doesn't fit on the topical boards - a dedicated range of Fantasy figures would probably benefit from being posted to a thread on the Fantasy board, though, ideally using the [COMMERCIAL] tag in the title to indicate your vested interest.

Also, you are welcome to add an unobtrusive (i.e. not too big and NOT animated) banner to your signature.

Cheers Westfalia Chris!
That's just the sort of guidance I had hoped for.

Sounds very constructive.

How small aught a sig image be here?

Banner or leaderboard size should be all right, i.e. 468x60 or 728x90.

Welcome. I had a quick look at your Facebook page - nice trolls. You could also update your profile so that a little globe sits under your avatar linking to your website.
