Finally.
I thought it would be a daunting task but, with my daughter's help, it turned out to be stress-free and relatively easy :)

Not enough lol

I concur, you need more stuff sir! lol
-
Lovely little shed...
... and very well organised. :)
-
That looks very well sorted. I could spend hours and days in it... :D
-
I think we need some before pictures to see the improvement!
I will be keeping these photos to show my wife when she thinks I have too much gaming stuff!
-
In the fourth picture I spy an empty space on the top of a cabinet...... your collection is clearly lacking something that must be acquired to fill it :D
-
What a brilliant cabin!
I have a cabin to alas its full of all sorts of family related stuff and not just mine ::)
Nicely done and grand collection :)
-
Con you get out of the door?...
-
Very impressive Sir!
I have been thinking of something similar but mostly for my 3d printer and displaying all the stuff I print for my kickstarters.
-
It's like a TARDIS!
-
Con you get out of the door?...
Why would you ever want to do that? ???
-
Nice job but I confess my first thought was "Quick! Buy something." I mean, now you can see all those glaring gaps in your collection, right?

The first picture is mostly a 'before' picture. Everything was (mostly) in drawers just not in the correct drawers or grouped together.

That's actually been fixed by the 5th picture but it isn't visible, well spotted though!

A valid thought, and one that I shared. I'm in the process of painting and making more stuff as we speak so, fear not!
The sorting also involved a bit of a purge so lots of older stuff was given away or binned (I can't be bothered with selling large things, the posting is always such a pain) :)

Looks like a very professional job and well organised. It is a good job that you put the cats in charge of supervision and quality control.

The right people for the right jobs is my motto :)
-
That is a beautiful collection. Nice to have the kids pitch in to sort it out too.
-
Don't look now but I think the cat wants its own shelf too.
Also - I am SO envious!
-
I’m really impressed!
This might well be one of the holy places of the hobby, one of those near-mythical locations which Future generations will doubt to have ever existed!

Actually that is very near to gospel truth. Many of us forum members are of an age to remember (and most certainly participating) the beginnings of the Nottingham empire. To me this is a special generation of gamers, not really the first, but different to those before and therefore the first of a new type. Many of this generation influenced the entire business and still do.
So - yes, this shed looks like a fine monument to commemorate those beings responsible for the hobby days we live in today! :D

Oh you foolish man. Now her indoors can see just how much of a horde you actually acquired.Even worse she'll be able to when you've added to it. :o
Put some dust sheets over it quickly before its warm enough for her to potter in the garden.
Quick man there may still be time to turn this around.

Far too late for that. She paid for the cabin to get my stuff out of the house lol
I've made a video:

Great job Paul, it looks very organised - are you able to use the space under the table to switch out terrain boards? How big is your table?
The sorting also involved a bit of a purge so lots of older stuff was given away or binned (I can't be bothered with selling large things, the posting is always such a pain) :)
Couldn’t agree more - if one of the guys running my local recycling centre is a war gamer over the years they’ve probably picked up a couple of entire gaming boards, and a ten foot long aircraft carrier
lol
-
Just watched the video - excellent - hopefully it will be the start of a whole series of Games Room Tours by various gamers.
I must confess though, it is the first games room I’ve seen that not only has a fridge, but also a lazy Susan - very jealous.
-
I have a coffee machine and a teapot too but I neglected to feature them :(
-
So neatly organized! It is great to know where is what!
The envy of any wargamer! Congrats!
The wish is that you'll keep it sorted on the long run!

Easier said than done but that is the plan :)

It was interesting in the video that you mentioned you try to keep the table for gaming and paint in the house - due to kids/pets I end up painting/scratch building in my games room, and consequently my gaming table has become swamped over time.
Have sent much of the weekend having a good clear out and a bit of reorganisation to make better use of my own gaming space, but it isn’t as half as organised as your own.
:)

Mine wouldn't be organised if it wasn't for my daughter's help. I would have kept putting it off forever. Having two of us working on it removed the stress and we got it done in a very short time. It was fun to do in the end too.

It is good to have a willing assistant to help organize as well as keep you on track. I always wander off on a tangent when organizing.
Nice video of your cabin as well.

Without going too much off topic, I really like this thought. When I visited the Nottingham shrine on a recent Hadj on my birthday, and I’m speaking about the GW museum, where I even met Jervis Johnson in person, it struck me, how the humble beginnings, still presented in a couple of showcases , formed an industry.
A couple of guys interested in 2000 AD, Tolkien, Moorcock, Dune, von Däniken, German late Middle Ages, Rome, Arthur and archaeology created a hodgepodge world to sell models of small tin soldiers, and now we have a whole range of companies copying more or less blatantly that specific hodgepodge. Sometimes I feel the not-historical hobby is 90% or more GW and its copyists.

That is absolutely what they want to you to think.
The shed is amazing. I've been trying to do a similar organization myself for some time, but's not proceeding with any haste, I'm afraid.
The minor bits I have done do show benefits though, faster to table for gaming and such, so I will soldier on. And now, I feel inspired.

This lol
Actually my wife claims I‘m not able to organize at all... I just put stuff from A to B and then loose interest.
She might have a point though ;)

Wonderful. I keep looking at the back of my garden (post divorce new house) with similar thoughts.........
