I dunno, but they look Rackhamy.
-
Jup, they are Rackham Confrontation Goblins; Rackham took a detour with the Goblins a few years ago. They went from generic goblins to an Oriental look. Terrific sculpts by the way. Too bad they're gone now :(

Gone? oh no :-[ :'(

If you're interested in their metal miniatures lines, try here: http://www.ludikbazar.com/ (http://www.ludikbazar.com/)
They are selling all that metal stuff from Rackham as long as stocks last ...

Curse you Admiral. You made me order too much :D. That dragon was too cheap to pass up on!

The creatures in the first entry are amazing...don't know where they are from or what they are, but the details on them are fantastic!! The cowboys look very nice as well, but the photo seems out of focus, so some of the details appear to be lost.

I've been withholding my vote on this match-up. The goblins in the first entry look good, but all their red stuff looks unhighlighted to me, which makes them look a little flat. What's perplexing is that the painter obviously has the skills--so why aren't the reds popping? I also admit a personal prejudice against minis photographed in the garden.
The minis in the second entry look like they might be very well painted, and I like their genre. However, the picture is too washed out to really allow appreciation of the minis.
What to do...what to do...?

No highlight on the red dots : "artistic choice" : I wanted them flat and contrasting with the rest of the miniatures. That doesn t mean that you have to like it. And in fact, there is a very very light highlight.
The gobs are from Rackham, they're sold as "Goblin Ashigarūs".
Also I must say that I like my miniatures to not be too "flashy". I've fought against myself for some of my entries in the LPL, and with no effects (as with the paranoia or ducks entry). The dark blue and tan cowboy girls are more like what I m liking to do (colorwise), as are the krieg mobil or the jedi. For this entry, I've painted something closer to my "normal" "style" and looking at the votes, I should have done it more often instead of trying to "please the audiance". That was a double error finally, as my colorfull minies took me a lot more time to paint, decreasing my production, when all my winning entries (but the krieg horses) took only one or two afternoon to be painted. I'll know it next year if I enter again.
And thx for the nice comments )

I completly agree....
But at least I now I have quite extensive Confrontation armies :)
(and the dragon was indeed to cheap to pass up on, as were the wolfen, ogres, etc etc.... )

Trust my luck to go up against this piece of brilliant painting so close to the end!
I love the figures too, they kind of remind me of the wierd things off the Mummy 2 in the oasis. Anyone else getting that or is it just me?

That's what they reminded me of.
Thanks :D
