Title: Vendee rebels in 15mm?
Post by: vtsaogames on July 12, 2019, 06:33:39 PM
I have 24 of them done by GFI (Minifigs USA) which is now defunct. They were conversions of Minifigs Spanish guerillas. I could use another 36-48 for Rebels & Patriots. Possibilities include Minifigs Spanish guerillas, but no pole weapons/farm implements. Old Glory 15s make Spanish militia (again no pole arms). I just found Naismith has Spanish civilians (men and women) attacking, no idea what they look like. I know Alain Toullier made excellent figures but that's done and gone. Any suggestions?

For that matter, anyone have Alain's or GFI's rebels and want to sell them?

Lancashire Games make figures for Vendee and are currently producing a new range.  I think the old range might be closer in size to the figures you have although I suspect they will still be too big.

Chariot Miniatures Paris mob are worth a look.  They will fit size wise with what you have and have pole arms but will require some minor conversion. The 15mm Co have some Spanish guerillas that you might like.

Hope that helps.

Hmm, Lancashire shows no old line but I found indications that a new line is in the works. Perhaps I should wait a little bit.

Pretty sure the new Lancashire range will be 18mm, so the old range OB linked to is probably closer.  I have their 15mm Naps and they match Minifigs ok enough.

Minifigs has Russian guerrillas too, can't remember how Russian they look.  For polearms and farm implements, Lancashire used to have peasants with such in their medieval 15mm range, may still be there.  Museum has civilians with farm implements in their ECW range too, which might be the clothes at least a bit closer in time.

This link should work.

It does, and that's just what I was looking for! Thank you.

Figures ordered. Perhaps sometimes this summer the Vendee rebels will attempt to stop the blues from bringing a guillotine into their town.

Happy to help Vincent.  I'd be very interested in what you think of them once you get them.  I reckon I have enough projects on the go but the Vendee is very tempting.
