Post by: manchesterreg on August 13, 2019, 06:59:04 PM
What cars are people using for Hue (if any) Ive some 1/43 French Taxis which can fit the bill, but what cars were popular then and available in 28mm now? Thank you.

I have seen photographs of  VW Beetles in Vietnam.

I am not sure if 1/43 cars will overwhelm 1/48-1/50 scale tanks etc.

Again you need to choose the scale.
French 1940s, 1950s and 1960s cars, C2V and Citroen DS.
If you go for 1/56, there is the Rubicon Citroen 11CV:

Rubicon have an improved model out now.

Tamiya do one in 1/48.

Would the French have left any of these lying about?

Got a 1:43 scale Citroen 2CV (by a company called Norev) from Monkbar Model Shop in York recently. Might be a tad big as the top of an Empress Miniatures USMC figure just about looks over the roof.

Siku has a Traction Avant in 1:55. I have two, they're fantastic cars. Model below is original paint save a dull coat.

Yes, I find Siku Citroën Traction fits well with 28mm minis. I have also Cars Sal Machiani Metal Diecast Toy Car that looks not so bad beside it. Here is a picture with 28mm minis from WestWind Productions, a Gringo40s and TAG in rear and some Baker Company.
