They're right behind you, good chum! Another excellent pair-up.
-
Two great entries :-* :-* :-*
How do you choose between them ??? ??? ???
Chess set is lovely :-* scratch built? What about the players?
Great story in the second :-*
-
While both are truly excellent, I'm afraid that the second wins it for me, crisp photograph and simple layout.
and of course great painting on both!
-
Sort of a random pteradactyl in that first entry, but beautiful paintjobs of great minis. Gotta add; it's just such an unlikely domestic scene.
Tsar's entry is also beautifully painted, but it's hard not to vote for a chess set.
-
The chess set is excellent I agree...
The long arms on the TRex look sooooo awkward lol but the grouping is excellent
Well done both of you.
-
Holy! Both dinos are fantastic!!! Great entries!

Chess set is lovely :-* scratch built? What about the players?
The chess table itself is scratchbuild, the chess figures are from a very old 54 mm set by Phoenix Miniatures and slumbered in my drawers for more than 30 years ...
Players are standard miniatures from Foundry's Darkest Africa range, only the hand of the right mini was slightly converted to hold the chess figure (instead of a pistol, I think).
Pygmies are the old Citadel ones, and the Pterodactylus is from Papo with some repainting, and resculpting the large "Made in China" stampings on his wings.
Thanks for all the nice comments, and it was real fun again to participate in season 3. :D
Even if it will be the fourth place - again. :?
-
Absolutely brilliant Admiral, love the chess players :-*
-
These are both really nice entries. The detailing in the first is fantastic...WOW!! The second entry has just as nice detailing, but the photo is a bit too bright, which doesn't provide the viewer with the correct viewing!! Great job to both of you. Both button please!!

Don't worry, you are going to win this round, and it's deserved, to my opinion.
Your painting quality is awsome (as usual) :o
At least you'll be on the third place.
It's a pleasure to face you on this last round. :)
Cheers Admiral
@all: thks for the comments :)

This was a real tough decision because both entries are great! The second photograph is a bit clearer, but the dinosaur looks a bit too much like an oversized Velociraptor rather than a Tyrannosaurus. That said, the painting on the adventurers and cavemen looks really great. The admiral's entry is colourful as ever and I love the Pteranodon, it's also great to see the old Citadel Pygmees again (hardly ever saw any painted). That said, the photography is a bit less clear. In the end it was partly the jungle in the first picture that won it over the fir trees in the second picture.

:o :o :o canīt choose
but then I realize the chess .
I am very sorry tsar1701 that is hard :?
sorry Grimm
-
Grimm look at me: o_o the chess is not so fantastic.
no ? okay, it's fantastic, so don't be sorry.
but one day I'll have my revenge .... mwahahahahha (mad-demonic laught) lol
-
:-*
That is just some fantastic work by both you guys!
Well done... really... well done.
-
At least you'll be on the third place.
Have a look at the leaderboard, tsar. It's just the maths ... Even winning this round, I'm still 2 points behind you.
Anyway - it was a pleasure, and I always liked your fantastic miniature and photo compositions!
:)

I confess, I never read the mode of calculation, each trun I content myself to pray after having sacrificed a chicken lol

:)
Thanks for the compliment, but one day I'll ask you some advice about the contrast in your minis, mine are a little bit "vague"
-
all the same with all four top ranks
it's so close, all about taste - that's the only thing the ranking reveals
I very much hope that one of the three platform positions will be split - this would truly reflect the quality everyone sees here
a pity that the four won't be able to at least take one picture with all miniatures
or better - work together on one vignette
this would be nice
-
Both fantastic entries.
I love the dinos in each.
...Pterodactylus is from Papo with some repainting...
Where does tsar1701's T-Rex come from?
-
Where does tsar1701's T-Rex come from?
Same as Admiral Benbow, Papo repainted.

Long live Papo then ;). Great dinos in both shots.
This is indeed a very difficult choice. Tsar uses good humour and excellent photography again, combined with some excellent painting. The scenery makes it all look like a movie still.
The same goes for Benbow's. The jungle and backdrop are gorgeous and makes this near perfect. The painting is fantastic as usual and the chess game is hilarious! The painting on the dinosaur is just perfect, but like Mancha, I think the dino is a bit out of place in the shot. That said, it still is your best entry so far IMO.

Just stumbled on this as a bottom of page link and I feel very lucky!
Lovely stuff
