I started this build about a year ago but was side-tracked by other things.
This one is another addition to the Victorian London board. As Jimbibbly has shown, Victorian London was festooned with weather-boarded buildings so I thought it was time to add a few myself. I took my inspiration from a building in Rochester, I've lost my original pictures of it but here's a dodgy image from Streetview:

Here's my frontage. Weatherboarding was created by layering strips of balsa wood. The windows are the usual Grandt Line and the shopfront is from Sarissa. I'm about to add the smaller details, beginning with roof tiles. Then it will be the guttering, glass for the shopfront, outside lights, paving etc

A back wall and gate still needs to be added, along with gravel and weeds for the back yard. I'll be adding tiles to the rear roof section too.

The weatherboarding was slightly fiddly but nowhere near as difficult as I thought it would be. I'm already thinking ahead to the next build.

Fantastic work! I really like the painting of the brickwork. Contrasts nicely against the white weatherboard.

Thanks Splod :)

I like the weathered wood siding, the staining of the brick and the curtains- details that make a big difference.
