Thought I'd post these minis here as they're the first my son has painted in ten years,bought the game as we both liked the minis included.
He's been painting the Deathwatch and Genestealer characters while I'm having a go at the rank and file pieces.
We intend to replace the plain bases with the moulded ones shown in some of the pictures.

Yeah,could never reconcile creatures with purple skin going unnoticed in a population,so the aberrants and monstrous Genestealers are starting off very dark flesh with the more human hybrids wearing a normal flesh tone,that's my take anyway :)

Had a lot of games with it, brings back some good mood to me. Maybe next year a SciFi-game from wales at Blam? A fistful of terminators... ;)

Pics from our second game, appropriately mission two. :)
Good game,marines taking casualties but managing to recover their wounds,cultists dying in droves :)
Things we learned, marines are tough and I need to paint up the remaining cultists,I'm going to need them lol

More progress on the minis,mostly all rebased on the sculpted bases now,look better I think ? :)
Tonight's game,mission three, Recover.
Closer this time for the Genestealers with them taking out two marines but still losing the scenario.
Final pic is of Raven Guard marine who took out the Patriarch !

Thanks for posting these. I have that set, still sealed. I was kicking around selling it since I didn't want to bother painting all the detail on those marines but I may just crack that thing open now.

Mission five tonight,Officium Solus,
Two marines guarding a lift to a lower level of the mine whilst another member of the Deathwatch team race to catch them up.
Another fun game with the marines once again coming out on top,but not before Jetek Suberei was sent for an early visit to the Emperor :)

Mission six today, Firestorm Ultima. Four members of Kill Team Cassius have to plant three krak grenades on a promethium silo what could go wrong? lol
Well lots actually,with the marines suffering two deaths and a third wounded before they succeeded in blowing the silo!
Another fun game,pics of the action below.
Pic 1 shows the winning move with Cassius planting the third and final krak grenade to blow the place sky high. :D
Pic 2 the Patriarch card turns up in the deck too late to avert disaster. :( lol

Last night's game,mission seven,Tables Turned,Deathwatch have to kill all the cultists.
Once the cultists have been eliminated they can't be recycled so once they're gone they're gone,gulp!! :)
Another close game with the Deathwatch scything through the cult minis but with the Gambit cards eventually influencing the game in favour of the cult,so another Genestealer victory! :)

Tonight's game,final mission in campaign, Eliminate the alpha threat!
Another fun game with the Deathwatch edging it once again.
We have both enjoyed these missions and will definitely give them a re run by swopping sides. :)
