DeltaDog was kind enough to sell me a cast of his bubblecar from Fallout. This then languished here for a few....years? But now she is done, finally.
28mm scaled bubblecar, GW 25mm base for reference. Lots of weathering and a hint of concrete dust.

Great job. :o :o
-
Very nice weathering. Surprisingly colourful.
-
Thx guys, it was laborious for a while, but now happy she is done :)
-
That windscreen is brilliantly done. Very nice work!

Picked up a lot of bits at the Crisis show yesterday....so I better get cracking. Computer says "No"

Excellent.
Worryingly I remember that kind of computer.

Excellent.
Worryingly I remember that kind of computer.
I remember using them when brand new and disposing of them for the Council when they went out of date and stacked them skyhigh in the local Fallout shelter. Ah, the days of green monochrome screens and everything in beige.
But....carrying on:

Thank you guys. The Motel is a bit quiet at the moment though. Maybe too quiet.

Those are all very cool! Love the skeleton on the mattress.

Finished the first of the GW 40K bike wrecks, only took like....forever. Wheels will get recycled some way, they live in my bits box now. No papers or anything, thought it was good enough and I want to clear the table. Goes straight into my Inq28, Necromunda and Post Apocalyptic pile.

Some wonderful work here. Love the mattresses and the Hog.
-
Your painting is superb as always, Gunbird. It's bad enough that Clanmac has to show me up in post-apo, and now here you are...
Well, back to the table.
-
Lovely work Gunbird. Is the safe, mattress and old PC from the Pardulon collection?
-
Love it all, but especially the bike.
I would expect you to re(motor)cycle the wheels, you didn't have to say it.
Remember rule 1 (of wargamers) 'Never throw ANYTHING away'.
Please keep posting, I can't match it, but love looking.
-
Sinew: Thank you. Just staying motivated :)
Bravo 6: Safe and Matress I got from Crooked Dice, they are the old Pardulon right? The PC was made and cast by Delta Dog a few years ago.
Has.been: I know that, you know that, but my wife ain't keen on the 11 moving boxes of kit parts I have in the attic atm lol
-
I know of one harassed gamer who kept an old talcum powder tube filled with dust.
He would sneak new purchases into the house then sprinkle them with 'dust'.
If asked, 'Are they new' he would just point at the layer of dust & say, 'Obviously not'.
-
The lengths we go to......
And today, it's time for another 50 cent challenge.
Well, in this case a 0 cent challenge as I got these for free at the Goodwill. It happens from time to time. SO, we start with these:
They are from a Burago playset I believe, as I had this as a child, with roads, and curbs, signs etc. They might be a tad large, but the shape is fine and and the plastic is decent-ish, pretty solid even, with a minor bit of flex.
So, with a Warlord 60mm base, some skellies, lots of dirt, paint, paper, some 28mm scaled books I picked up for Frostgrave, a old Chaos decal and a GW Imperial Guard telephone later, we have these 2.....

Most excellent stuff. Difficult this side of the pond to get Americana.
I might try similar with an iconic (British) Red telephone box.
-
Love them!
-
That is amazing.
-
Great stuff in this thread :-*
-
GW skeletons?
-
GW skeletons?
No, the new Warlord (from that company they bought out, it's on the tip of my tongue) ones with the seperate feet.

I know what you are talking about, but can't bring it to mind either. I like the looks of them. I keep looking for good skellies for my post apoc scenery, and so far I've been bummed by the options. I ended up with EBob's, but they are almost too thin. Realistic enough, sure, but I feel like they get a bit lost in the mix because they aren't substantial. I think the ones you have are a better solution.

Yup, these are much cheaper, and much easier to set into the pose you want. Next up (next week, next month, next year?) I should have a few on benches finished

Wargames Factory. They're awesome kits for this type of terrain.
-
Beautiful work Gunbird. I've had phone conversations that make me feel like the skeleton holding the receiver.
-
Excellent work on the phone booths!
-
Phone boxes are superb, and I’ve also just invested in those skeletons. They’re really good and you’ve made the most of them here.
-
Thx guys, yes, those particular skeletons are perfect for this.
I'm taking a small time out from painting as my hands are...not well. Took an entire evening just to base up 40cm of fences and I'll give them some R&R.
-
Purchased! Waiting for my skeletons to arrive! Sorry about your hands.
-
Same - rest up and do research or inspiration (books, movies, internet).

My Sarissa Precision order came in and spent the day building the first part of the order that is meant for my Post Apoc collection. Hands are struggling, bit slow but steady wins the race. Great kit, highly reccomended, do score everything a little bit to make it all fold proper and do it step by step, and let the glue set between each step. And use rubberbands.....plenty of rubberbands.....Looking forward to painting this one :)

Ooo that's a nice looking kit. And rest those hands!
-
Those phone booths are fabulous.
And you have the patience of a saint to assemble that camper.
-
Sorry Gunbird, not trying to hijack your thread but..... does anyone have a direct link to those Warlord skeletons? My Google Fu appears weak.
Back to our scheduled program. :)

Gunbird, thanks for the construction pics on the Airstream. Been wondering about it and it looks good in the flesh, so might have to give it a go.

Thanks a bunch clanmac.
