Apparently yes, but I gave up after over 3months and several attempts to contact them. They did process my refund quickly though and they are at shows.

Grubby has - I just collected some stuff from him at Reveille the other week (including a short email conversation about it); and more relevantly had a successful web order in October (arrived within a week).

No, I was thinking of the larger resin pieces like the paddle boat steamer.

I have had two orders from Redoubt since the lockdown began.  The last one came in only two days. I think his early problems fulfilling mail orders are all over now, we can order with confidence.

Interesting.  So some get the orders in 2 days, others not in 4 months?  And the comment about not responding to emails, that doesn't seem good.  With that lack of consistency in order times and fulfillment, guess ordering from over seas isn't a wise thing to do, since phone and texting for follow up communication isn't possible from this end.

It has certainly made me hesitant, but I will say that this is the first issue I have had personally when ordering from the UK. I've ordered a few times from Warlord, once from Sarissa, and also from 4Ground and while it does take a little longer to ship, I have received the packages within reason. In fact, a friend of mine did a group order with several of us through Sarissa and they forgot one of the kits I had wanted. My buddy emailed them and they practically overnighted it to North Dakota, as it arrived about two days after he emailed them, so they have outstanding customer service.

My order was placed on Jan 14 and I also can not text him from the states, I also took into account our current situation. I had visited the site seeing his post about being up & running and thought a friendly inquiry on if the order had possibly shipped, but received  no response

Email sent again with no response, I am not looking for a refund but just an order ACW naval gun boat crew and gun for my Sarrisa Precision CSS Merimack that I planed on fitting the crew and gun before ordering another five crews and guns.
This stinks ???

Painter Jim, I feel for you man. I'm at a loss as to what to do as well, since calling or texting Andy isn't an option, as I'm in North Dakota myself.

I wonder if any of the folks on here who live near him might be able to help us out by contacting him to tell him he has customers in the States who need answers on our orders. I'm close to starting a dispute with PayPal just to try and get closure. I'd rather get the minis I ordered, but if I'm not going to, I want the amount of the unfulfilled portion refunded.

On a lighter note, I ordered the river gunboat kit from Sarissa for the ACW, as I thought it looked awesome.

Here's hoping we both get resolutions to our situations.

I will be curious to know how this works for you, as I don't have a PayPal account, so I'm not sure how I can resolve it, despite using them to check out as a guest. Plus, I believe the window has passed on me being able to file a dispute. Anyone with advice on this, I would love to hear what options I may still have.

Have you spoken to the bank that issued the card you used for the transaction? Here the U.K., you can request a charge back from them to try and get your money bank. Normally, it’s within 120 days, but I think exceptions can be made.

I haven't, as I hoped this would not come to this. Plus, the bigger problem with that is he sent part of the order, so doing a charge back would probably prove problematic.

I feel like I will have to eat this and learn an unfortunate lesson. Fortunately, having dealt with other companies in the UK has not completely soured me to doing business across the pond, but I just hope folks over there know what he's put a few of us in the States through and his reputation will be reflected in that.

I'm sorry to hear about this armybrat84.

Can I ask, are UK customers getting their orders delivered too or is it just a US problem?

North America seems to be a problem for Andy Grubb, I have a friend here in Canada who buys a lot of his Britannia range.

Orders are placed, nothing happens, emails sent, threaten to cancel the order and then the order will turn up but rarely complete or as ordered. Then it is a major challenge to get the order completed.

Grubby/Redoubt/Britannia have a lot of nice stuff but to me the hassle is not worth it.

Of dear...... I was about to put an order in for the Paddle Steamer but at £100 I'm not going to take the risk of it not getting to me :(

Update on my order
Never a response to order through personal correspondence and ultimately forced to resolve through pay pal.
I almost missed the deadline on filing a claim do to my patience in the matter, so do not wait to long on your decision, my purchase date was 1/14/20
I sure miss the original owners of what used to be an outstanding company to deal with, the figures are fabulous.

Given that the company has been consistent in the past with orders and given the current climate due to Covid 19 I would be prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt but it does seem alike a very excessive period of time to wait for an order in any part of the world. I think you have done the right things in making the claim.

Just to say UK based, ordered Tuesday and arrived this morning with a very pleasant note and a little extra package to say thanks.  Figures look like a little clean up work is needed but no more than most and the details are sharp, lovely figures so overall delighted.

Sorry to hear that.  Closer inspection shows a reasonable amount of clean up, one or two poses suffer more.  Lovely animated figures though and the head swap options are awesome and that is coming from a Perry fanboy!

I'm sorry to hear that but my experience has been exactly the opposite.  Ordered recently some Trojan War figures which was despatched very quickly along with a extra couple of figures. A follow up email regarding the building of the chariots was answered by return.  Excellent service and will be ordering again.

Can I ask what the quality is like with Redoubt? I had a collection of their Trojan Wars figures many years ago and have recently thought of buying them again. Given the age of the range plus the transfer to Andy Grubb I was a little worried that the moulds may no longer be first-class.

On the whole they were very good.  A couple of small mould lines to clean up but almost no flash and none of the mismatched mould faces that I have had in the past, especially with some of the FIW ranges.  The only issue I had was a couple of the swords were quite short, as if they had been cut off about 2/3 length. Can't tell if this was a moulding or a sculpting issue.

Having now seen them in the flesh against the Foundry, Newline and BTD figures I think they are excellent - better than Newline and BTD and almost on a par with Foundry, with some poses much better such as the spearmen and of course Redoubt have a much bigger range.

Hu Rhu, thanks. How do Foundry, Newline and Redoubt match scale-wise? From memory Redoubt are quite large but I may be imagining it!
Title: Re: Redoubt miniatures still trading ?
Post by: Hu Rhu on March 30, 2021, 01:52:37 PM
Redoubt and Foundry match almost perfectly. BTD are the same height but thinner and Newline are slightly smaller than the other three. Foundry and Redoubt could be based together the others not so in my opinion.

Don't have any Eureka but I'm told they match with Foundry.  There are some threads on the Ancients board that might help.
