Title: A Samurai House - modified 4Ground model
Post by: philhendry on December 09, 2019, 05:12:40 PM
I finished this a few days ago. I know a lot of Samurai were as poor as church mice, and often lived in quite basic houses, I wanted a house with a tiled roof. So I took a 4Ground 'Village Elder's House' and added some corrugated paper and styrene tube to make a tiled roof. I realise it isn't 100% authentic - I should, really, have done some serious surgery on the roof to make it into a 'hip & gable' roof rather than just a gable roof, but it seemed like a lot of complicated work and I wasn't sure I could pull it off... I might have another go sometime though!

Nice work. Samurai buildings seem (to my unskilled eye) to be among those that work fairly well in MDF form.

Still a very nice result - and I agree with Gibby.

I think it looks awesome! So much so I shall copy that idea.  :)
